25.01.2022 For the wellbeing of all of our dancers and their families and friends, all regular Le Step classes in Brisbane, on the Gold Coast, and in Redcliffe have now been suspended for the next three weeks as a precautionary measure for the good of our dancers and to help ease the curve in the spread of COVID-19. We promise that we will closely monitor all impending advice and reassess at that time so we can get classes happening again for you as soon as possible. In response to the ...escalation in COVID-19 containment advice provided by the Federal Government and considering the most up to date information and advice surrounding COVID-19, we believe it would now be socially irresponsible for us to continue public partner dance classes which, by definition, include personal contact and a definite lack of social distancing. Whilst we already had hygiene strategies in place (hand sanitizer available, no mints at the door etc), we acknowledge that, given the ongoing updates to information, public partner dance classes are no longer appropriate. With person to person transmission of Covid-19 confirmed in Australia, it’s unrealistic to encourage people who think they might be infected to stay away from classes. Many people are asymptomatic, which means they could unknowingly pass it on to others, who in turn pass it on to loved ones in the susceptible demographic. Indeed, our teachers, volunteer crew, and dancers, are all healthy but many have ongoing regular contact with older people who are in the risk groups. Conditions are presumed to get worse before they get better. We know that many of you will miss dancing during this challenging time, but we appreciate your ongoing support in prioritising the health & wellbeing of our dance community and their families and friends. Like everyone, we hope that if governments and individuals around the world do what they can to ‘flatten the curve’, this global health concern will pass, and that we can get onto a post-Covid-19 Le Step dance floor that’s full of new energy and enthusiasm!
