19.01.2022 The beauty of this spectacular wisteria tunnel is unlike any other! For many years I'd dreamed about capturing it on film, which has such a magical quality about it! So when Kai and Queenie contacted me about having their anniversary photo shoot, I knew this would be the one! Queenie chose the gown herself, it was a very happy coincidence that the colour matched the wisteria tunnel so well! I asked the amazing floral designer Basia Puchalski to create a ...bouquet and boutonniere for the bride and groom. I then added my own silk ribbon for a whimsical finishing touch. I was thrilled to see K+Q's anniversary photos being featured on @oncewed. I was elated when a bride-to-be contacted me about photographing her intimate wedding at this beautiful garden! I got really excited and offered to do some of the concept design and planning for her too! 16.01.2022 It’s been such a delight to watch the wonderful @taleahtilley grow from strength to strength as a floral artist! Taleah's style is reminiscent of a walk among a fragrant cottage garden or down a winding path to the ocean, where the waves lap at the shoreline. In their designs, Taleah uses surprising elements to create a magnificent texture including the nuts, seeds, pods and fruit of a plant. She recently launched a sister brand @keptmelbourne where you c...an find one of a kind vases to house your pretty blooms. They are beautifully sculpted, evocative of the gentle curves of a tree branch, or the undulations of a seashell. Maybe they are like the stem of a bamboo shoot. 15.01.2022 If you’re a plant lover like me say hey! I see you friend! Tonight I’ve been invited to share some of my knowledge on landscape design with the lovely folk at @flowers_infused_gday, where you can purchase beautiful plants in Melbourne. Before I became a wedding photographer, I was actually working in Architecture and Landscape Architecture. I completed both degrees at Melbourne University in 2010. ... I’ve worked on all kinds of projects, ranging from large scale urban planning to high end residential and landscape design. What drew me to that line of work was the design aspect. Being a visual person and an ENFP, I love to dream up new ideas and concepts, then designing the spaces and eventually seeing them constructed in the real world. So how did I end up becoming a wedding photographer? Back in 2010 a friend asked me to photograph her wedding. She loved the photos and her friends started asking me to photograph their weddings too. At the time I was working full-time in Architecture, and I only photographed weddings as a hobby. Eventually more and more couples asked me to photograph their weddings and I was working so much that I barely slept and didn’t have a social life any more. Then in 2015 my best friend from high school, Liz, passed away in an unexpected accident. That completely rocked my world and made me reassess what I was doing with my life. I became aware of just how precious life is, how short our days on earth are, and to make the most of every minute. So I prayed and asked God what I should do, and I felt that I could bless more people with my photography, so I went all in to becoming a wedding photographer. It’s funny where life takes us. 15.01.2022 Wisteria is an enchanting climbing plant that, when in bloom, looks like something straight out of a storybook. Their tassel-like flowers - usually seen in shades of rich purple - drape dramatically over pergolas and archways while their branches twist and tangle until they're enmeshed with the structure they're climbing. 03.01.2022 If you met me now, you would never believe it. When I was young I was really, really shy. I didn’t understand why I felt like I was so different to all the other kids until I became an adult. While most people seemed to communicate very easily with words, I struggled to make sense of words, because I mostly thought in pictures. ... When I was a child, I struggled to understand a lot of things in school until I was taught to read. Words in the written form were much easier to follow. I found myself sitting in the library a lot of the time, devouring books and travelling the world, through the stories of people living in far away places. After I got married to my hubby Sam, I discovered his way of thinking was very different to my own. When we listened to the exact same message, Sam tended to form concepts in his mind, whereas I tended to see the words visually, and pictures associated with those words would form in my imagination. After forming friendships with different artists I realised that we actually had a similar way of thinking visually. Other artists also felt frustrated when the words didn’t make as much sense as pictures. It felt so nice to be understood and to know that I’m not alone. I’m thankful to @kerrihocoach who helped me to strengthen my voice, giving me the confidence to speak without fear. She made the impossible, possible! I’m grateful that I pursued my calling as a fine art photographer. Doing what I’m naturally good at and being able to serve others with my gifts is an amazing blessing! Friends, know that you are wonderful just the way you are! 03.01.2022 When I was younger I played the flute, because I loved how whimsical it sounded. I always pictured angels playing the harp and the flute in heaven and I wanted to be like them! Music has the power to lift our spirits and bring us to another place.
