24.01.2022 Either your sales have gone up because theres been an increased demand for your products, or your sales have gone down because the products youve got are no longer in demand because of the virus. What should you do if you have experienced either of these? This week Llew talks about how business owners may navigate some the turbulence in demand that has been created by the virus.

23.01.2022 Does your cash flow budget factor in whether or not you will be eligible for Jobkeeper 2.0? WAs economy seems to have bounced back compared to a lot of the rest of the country, but a lot of businesses are currently receiving Jobkeeper payments. A lot of those businesses may not be eligible for Jobkeeper 2.0, given that:... a) The WA economy seems to be stronger now compared to a few months ago. b) Eligibility for Jobkeeper 2.0 requires three months of a decline in turnover, instead of one. Get on top of Jobkeeper 2.0 eligibility to make sure your cash flow budget is accurate. #jobkeeper #business #cashflow

23.01.2022 Things are starting to return closer to normal in WA - but what does the new normal look like? We do know that some things will be different after this period of economic shift is over. For example, the Government has signaled a shift to have more manufacturing in Australia. During times of economic change, demand across the economy shifts. ... What opportunities might there be for your business with the shift in demand then? Now is the time to reflect and strategise with that in mind.

23.01.2022 Transparency breeds buy-in. We recently had our annual planning day in a spacious room at the Rendezvous Hotel Scarborough with a gorgeous view overlooking the Indian ocean. We were very transparent with our business to our WHOLE team. We always are.... We believe by being transparent with your team, and involving them in the planning day process, you get real buy-in.

20.01.2022 The payment options you choose for your clients will have a big impact on your business cash flow. There is careful thought and planning that can go into your payment options, and they can improve customer experience and your debtors numbers, so your payment options are worth spending time on. https://www.lgas.com.au//payment-options-for-your-busines/

20.01.2022 How often do you take a step back from your business, even just for a few days? Last week I took a step back with my partner for a few days and had a lovely trip to Yallingup. Back at work now, I feel energised and motivated.... Its made me reflect on how stepping back from your business can actually help your business. As business owners the energy we bring to work is contagious, and trickles down through our team. If we take a few days off and come back feeling better and energised, that is good for our team and our business. What are the benefits you have noticed from taking some time off? #business

19.01.2022 Your business might have implemented a Work From Home policy earlier this year - but have you updated it to reflect your current arrangement? We all remember the uncertainty and the frantic rush many businesses had to make at the start of the year when places went into lockdown. We had to develop new policies, such as updated Working From Home policies, to meet that period of change.... But now with a few months of updated Working From Home policies in effect, does your policy document actually match the reality of what goes on in your business? If not, it's time to review that document. If you don't, it's possible you could find yourself in an unfair dismissal case. #business #workingfromhome #hr

19.01.2022 So last week it was released that WA got a negative 6% for state final demand for the June quarter... but if you look closely, there are some very exciting numbers! Today Llew is talking about why he thinks the June numbers for WA suggest that things could be looking very positive for our state moving forward! We are keen to see what the September numbers will be, and even more keen to keep doing business in this great state.... #waeconomy #wabusiness

19.01.2022 Last week the RBA dropped interest rates to 0.1%. But what does this mean for WA? It does provide opportunities for WA businesses who benefit from a reduced cost of borrowing, as well as opportunities in WA real estate. Today Llew is talking about what those opportunities might be for businesses and investors in WA.... #interestrate #westernaustralia

11.01.2022 The Business Metrics Business Owners Need To Be Aware OAs business owners we should always be dedicating time to track data in our businesses. For us here at LGAS we do that through various mechanisms such as a dashboard interface for the big picture, and excel spreadsheets for smaller metrics such as client call volume per staff member. In my view, the key metrics business owners should focus on for growing their business are:... - Sales revenue - Customer retention - Cost of customer acquisition - Operating productivity - Gross margin - Monthly profit /Net profit margin - Overheads costs - Inventory size Tracking key business metrics is important for a bunch of reasons, but probably the most important reason is for your business’s culture. If your businesses metrics are heading in the right direction then it leads to a culture of success. This leads to an opportunity to celebrate your successes as you reach new milestones. #business #businessadvisory

02.01.2022 While my role being a Director here at LG Accounting Solutions will stay the same, I am excited to announce I have become a Partner with Succession Plus After having been an accountant for almost 30 years I have seen time and time again business owners not preparing in advance for the sale of their businesses, and this lack of preparation causing some businesses owners to leave hundreds of thousands on the table. Succession Plus is about maximising the value of a business fo...r sale. Inevitably we all leave our businesses, so preparing for that event is something every business owner must do, but unfortunately not many are. I am looking forward to using my role with Succession Plus to help many more businesses maximise the value of their businesses for sale.

02.01.2022 I have been doing annual staff reviews with our team here at LGAS for almost a decade now. That means I have spent many hours sitting across from team members setting expectations for the next year. My best advice for staff reviews is to make sure you and your employee both have a clear understanding of expectations from each other.... These expectations, for the employee, can include whatever KPIs/goals and targets you have for the coming year, but the key thing is that both parties have the same understanding. #hr #business #staffreviews
