When they researched it further they discovered how different life is now and how thankful/ grateful they are to not be living through a war. Here are some of their amazing responses when asked "what are you grateful for?"

Todays craft activity was for the children to recreate Alberts painting on their own using oil pastel crayons and paper. They really enjoyed doing this experience. Here are some of the budding artists in the making.

15.01.2022 Good morning everyone, There seems to be a lot of confusion for parents in regards to school closures. Our Centre is Governed by the Australian Early Childhood Care sector and we are listed as an essential Service. We are operating as normal and we have put in every precaution to ensure our children are hand washing frequently and our Centre is being diligently cleaned several times throughout the day. If you choose to keep your child at home, could you please notify us by email or a phone call. We will continue to communicate to you about any updates ACECQA send through to us. This is a troubling time for many and our heart goes out to everyone. Please stay safe and well and lets hope this passes very soon. Kind Regards Mrs Gallagher XX

13.01.2022 Our Creators room have been very thorough in teaching the children about the importance of hand washing especially during Covid - 19 . The children have been singing two different songs to help with washing their hands and how long for. The two songs are "Everybody wash their hands just like me" and "Baa Baa Black Sheep" which they have to sing twice so all the germs are removed from their hands. Lottie decided that today she would provide a demonstration whilst playing outside in the sand pit.

09.01.2022 A month ago our staff decided to have a fun friendly competition between each room. The competition was to make home made resources that the children could play within in the centre. The criteria was: *Has to be from a childs interest *Has to be a resource which can be used in the learning environment by the children... *Every Staff Member needs to be involved in the process. *Had to be made from recyclable materials/natural. Today was judgement day, our judges were Miss Lorraine from the Kitchen and Miss Courtney from Administration. They went around to each room to have the children and staff display what they had made and see how the children interacted with the resource. Each room made some great resources that can be continued to be used. The Preschool room made puppets and a puppet theatre which came from when the children did a play on the Three Little Pigs. The Junior Preschool made a cow that they could milk after there excursion where a child mentioned they would like a cow of their own for Li'l Achievers The Toddlers made bird feeders after some children showed interest in birds from home The babies room made a song dice to continue their language development as the children have shown a great interest in nursery rhymes The winner was............... The theme for this year's International Day of Happiness is 'Happiness For All, For Ever' and aims to focus on what we have in common, rather than what divides us. To promote and support world happiness in our centre the explorers coloured in some lovely big smiles. Miss Jacinta was also able to capture our friends beautiful happy faces.
