19.01.2022 Its been a long 20-years. Thats two whole decades since the mighty Green & Whites last set-foot on the local Rugby League field. And whilst physically absent during this time what hasnt been absent is the Pride and Passion of Shammies. The legend has continued to breathe through tales of the past generations, day-in, day-out. What has been said to be the impossible is now a genuine reality. Nearly 18-months of hard work behind the scenes through contact with past com...mittees, local meetings, recruitment of players & members, and continuous discussions with Country Rugby League; has led to what will be the rebirth of Lithgow Shamrocks Rugby League Football Club - ready to take the field in the Mid-West New Era Cup, 2020 season. With a number of interests already being conveyed for 2020 coaching roles (both the Mens side & Womens League-Tag), Shamrocks also have 30 odd players lined up of which are not playing Rugby League around the Lithgow area in the 2019 season all of which have been highly competitive players in their past clubs over the past decade. Due to this fact, Shamrocks would like to maintain this status proposed to Country Rugby League that this rebirth therefore does not jeopardise the current competitiveness and/or existence of current clubs in the Greater Lithgow area (particularly Lithgow Workmens Club, Lithgow Bears and Portland Colts). Keeping the above status in mind, we welcome any interests for players, coaches, committee, volunteers and members to contact us directly via a personal message on Facebook, to which you will be directed to current committee members for further discussions. The passion that still exists for Shamrocks has already displayed to us immense support so early, and we urge everyone else that still shares that same passion to get behind this great club the more the merrier. Its worth noting that just like other existing clubs of recent times that are not currently registered for the 2019 season; Lithgow Shamrocks ARE an existing, established club, and have been since 1966. Therefore, this is by no means the case of a new team attempting to enter Country Rugby League and seeking approval. To put it quite simply; SHAMROCKS ARE BACK, and ready to be carried by the next generation. Stay tuned for further updates with respect to the upcoming AGM.
18.01.2022 With the rebirth on the horizon; Lithgow Shamrocks AGM will be held on Wednesday 21st August, 7pm, at the Commercial Hotel Lithgow (back room of restaurant). Agenda will include; formation of the new association, confirmation of office bearers (lead committee), and informal discussions around all other topics necessary. We welcome anyone showing any interest (be it player, coaching, assistants, member interests, or simply to bear witness and show public support for Shamrocks), to attend the AGM. Should you have any further queries prior to the AGM, please dont hesitate to inbox the Shamrocks Facebook page and express interest.

06.01.2022 Public Update: Today, Shamrocks Directors attended the Group 10 AGM to sit before the Group 10 Board of Directors and its current associated Group 10 Clubs, to have the opportunity to address our application for entry and the added benefits that Shamrocks will bring to Country Rugby League, generating greater interest for the game within the local area. We received very positive feedback from board officials and gained the support backing of some current Group 10 Clubs, with... feedback that Shamrocks application is very strong, holding many valid points that this great game needs. Further positive feedback to share is that the Mid-West New-Era Cup will be looking to grow to 8 teams for next season, with 3 other competitive teams alongside Shamrocks today given their opportunity to address their applications for entry to the competition also. This is in lead up to the Mid-West AGM which will be held on Wednesday 13th November with the inclusion of the 8 proposed clubs, to which the competition will then look to be finalised. This is very exciting stuff, not only for the long awaited return of the mighty Green & Whites, but for Mid-West footy and Country Rugby League in general. Shamrocks look forward to playing a key role in this development moving forward. Following the success of the upcoming Mid-West AGM, Shamrocks will then immediately look to share information of our major sponsors, as well as address the queue of media enquires that we have had to push back in the interim. That being said, Shamrocks are still looking to fill the position of some more minor sponsorship positions. Any local business seeking interest in Shamrocks sponsorship is encouraged to reach out to the Shamrocks committee for further information. Long live the Rocks
03.01.2022 Lithgow Shamrocks are proud to publicly announce our appointed coaches for the 2020 season. Coaching our Mens side will be Michael Doggett - who brings with him a wealth of experience to lead the Mens group into the comeback season. Having started his career as a Shamrock Junior in the early to mid 90s, Mick went on to play for Workmens Club 1st Grade at age 17. Mick later went on to be selected for the NSW Country Representative side and, after having been offered contr...acts with 6 different NRL Clubs, in 2003 he was picked up by the Newcastle Knights, playing Jersey Flegg and later heading into Premier League playing alongside the likes of Kurt Gidley, Michael Ennis and Brad Tighe. Mick was fortunate enough to also be coached and mentored by Rugby League greats such as Andrew Johns, Michael Hagen and Garth Brennan during his career in Newcastle. Coaching our Womans League-Tag side will be Steven Hughes - who joins the club with not only the experience of coaching League-Tag in recent years, but also brings with him further insight having played other vital roles in the past such as Vice President at the Lithgow Bears. Stevie also joins us having commenced his own career as a Shamrock Junior during the 90s and is enthusiastic to once again be a part of the Club. Wed like to officially welcome both Mick & Stevie back to Shamrocks and are excited for the return-season ahead. We urge anyone that has any desire in being a part of this great Club, in absolutely any form, to contact any of the Club Directors and/or Coaches to register your interest! SHAMMIES
