25.01.2022 We have some AMAZING news about our #Cobargo project! For those who missed it, students from Cobargo PS wrote their own book called 'The Day She Stole The Sun' which was about the bushfires from last year that devastated their small town. We’re proud to see how well the book is going and would like to give a special thanks to local Maddi, who has distributed more than 375 books! ... For each purchase, $10 goes directly to the local school. We cannot think of a more noble cause! We love seeing Australia communities like these ones not only supporting each other but also supporting the children of the area, it is truly something special! To support the Cobargo community, buy their book here; https://www.littlescribe.com//the-day-she-stole-the-sun-by #aussieschools #aussieteachertribe #youngauthors

11.01.2022 Looking for some #writing activities for the first week back? Engage your students with these 5 ideas that can be adapted and require little preparation! 1. Write a postcard from your holidays. This can be a postcard from the beach or bush, but it can also be a postcard from home, from the backyard or local park, from Grandma’s house or even an imaginary place.... 2. Create a character profile of yourself. Draw a picture and label the features, use a ‘Wanted’ poster style or write the opening paragraph of a narrative describing the main ‘character’. 3. Write a letter to your future self. Create a time capsule to be opened at the end of the year. Describe current likes and dislikes, skills and hobbies. Predict what will happen throughout the year, what will be learnt and experienced and how the year will end. 4. Respond to a visual prompt. Provide an interesting stimulus and invite students to respond through creative writing. Use the writing as a benchmark or pre-assessment and repeat throughout the year to track progress. 5. Design your ideal meal! Draw and describe the perfect pizza, burger, dessert, breakfast etc. Focus on descriptive vocabulary and imagery. Create a persuasive advertising campaign to promote the meal. Check out more ideas and ways to create a year's worth of writing for your class https://www.littlescribe.com/megascribe/

10.01.2022 Some years ago I wrote the Forever Fairies, about the magic of forever learning. It was inspired by the two teachers that my children were lucky enough to have, Kirsty Kemp and Lexi McDonald. As the magic of Santa takes hold may you take a moment to reflect on the magic created every day in classrooms near and far. ... Merry Christmas and thank you to all the Forever Fairies. THE FOREVER FAIRIES Forever is a place that cannot be sought, sold or replaced. It is a place only opened by the Forever Fairies. Forever Fairy magic is hard to find yet easy to see. The littlest of our little ones love forever magic, for it opens the world of possibility The forever fairies float like dandelions leaving a whisper of forever on all they touch. The littlest of our little ones reach and stretch, with eyes wide open, hearts happy and souls ready to embrace the world of possibility revealed only by the forever fairies. The forever fairies gift is a pure gift and it is received as it is given. It is a gift that reopens every day and knows no end. As the season changes so do the fairies littlest little ones. For the Forever Fairies gift is so beautiful and so rare their burden is knowing they must share their dandelion touch with as many of our littlest little ones that seek them out. In the world of upside-down and back the front, where red pens are celebrated and cuddles misunderstood the forever fairies are the rarest of all who inspire. Between seasons the forever fairies must be as gentle to themselves as they are to our littlest little ones, all year round. The tears of the Forever Fairy shed right now are little mirrors that glisten reflecting their season's work. Forever Fairies must embrace their tears for they have been earnt. Peace will fill the Forever Fairy with the knowledge they have left nothing in their heart and soul. For theirs is emptied to fill the littlest of the little ones. Now it is time for the sun, the sea and the rainbows to replenish the Forever Fairies with inspiration, wisdom and clarity. For the newest of our littlest little ones have eyes wide open ready to be blessed by the touch of a Forever Fairy. This is the only way a Forever Fairy can be and the only way to spread the forever magic - the forever love of learning. - Littlescribe founder, Jenny Atkinson

02.01.2022 Graphic novels are just picture books, right? Wrong! Graphic novels and general illustrations are vital to the growth of a child’s creativity and writing skills!...
