Not much is right with this door but the hinges were completely worn out making the lock hit on the electric strike. 21.01.2022 Magnetic locks are a great solution for locking gates but you have to match the correct product for the location & of course install it correctly. Here we replaced an undersized mag lock with 280Kg holding force meant for internal use and not installed correctly with a weather resistant FSH mag lock with 680Kg holding force. 14.01.2022 When you use the word Asbestos it generally raises concern & what a lot of people don’t realise is Asbestos was widely used in fire door construction through to the mid 80’s. This door was one of 5 in a public hospital that the client was insisting we install electric strikes too. The job was delayed, the doors tested & replaced. Our rule is if it is tagged prior to 1990 it is treated as such and we will not work on that door unless there is documentation stating otherwise. I showed the customer who told the builder but they claimed I installed the cylinder incorrectly.
