24.01.2022 Great opportunity for our budding artists and the like ..

23.01.2022 A lovely morning out and about with the family at the Mareeba Markets. Catching up with residents and enjoying the sun whilst buying those awesome little things you just can’t buy in a shop anymore. #buylocal #mareebashire

22.01.2022 An important message to deliver across the shire

21.01.2022 Looks to be a great day out!

20.01.2022 Congrats to the Mareeba Turf Club on hosting their annuals meet. A wonderful day out and I did tip the bookies a lot today. They loved me! Was great to finally get out with the family and enjoy it.

19.01.2022 Great to have minister hinchliffe in town today. He’s the minister for local government. Managed to have a chat about a few things in our Shire.

19.01.2022 That time of year again.

19.01.2022 Great info about the Barron but for how long? This is important knowledge for safety in our waterways. These animals are in areas that they shouldn’t be.

19.01.2022 Check it out, expressions of interest sought to be apart of this great event

17.01.2022 Touching tribute today for Vietnam vets day in Mareeba. Was lovely to see all the schools in attendance laying their wreaths in honour of our fallen vets.

15.01.2022 Hi all, don’t forget your opportunity to have your say! Please let your friends know if they aren’t aware. Let’s get some good things happening!

14.01.2022 Happy New Year to everyone. Starting the new year with this beautiful rain is a good start. I hope everyone stays safe and let’s all look forward to a great 2021.

14.01.2022 Hey everyone, we are looking for you! Here’s a chance to be apart of one of the most unique races in Australia. We are looking for some equally excited advisory committee members for next years race!

14.01.2022 Wow! Well done Mareeba speedway ! This place is a rockin. The night is just getting started and shaping to be a beauty! Sprint cars outlaw sedans and more,

12.01.2022 Works are continuing on the Rankin Street (west) water upgrade in Mareeba. As part of the Shire-wide water infrastructure upgrade strategy, this section of wate...r main was identified for replacement following numerous main breaks occurring in the past few years. The project includes replacing failed existing AC water mains to maintain the ongoing water supply for residents and businesses in the area. We thank the community for their cooperation and patience while these critical works are carried out. See more

12.01.2022 This is incredible! Records smashed for cattle sold yesterday at Mareeba’s sale yards. So great to see our producers having a win after many years of selling below or at cost. When our cattle producers are having a win the whole shire benefits.

11.01.2022 Excited to be apart of this great opportunity. Thanks to the express for the write up.

11.01.2022 Very privileged to have The Governor-General of Qld, His excellency Paul de Jersey, in Mareeba today. As a Council we had a lunch (in which we pitched our story and what we would love for our Shire) and then a milestone at the airport with a sod turn for MAF’s(mission aviation fellowship) new hanger construction and commencement for a training facility which includes accommodation and a flight school among others. In the pic is Mayor Angela Toppin, ex Mayor Tom Gilmore and Mr De Jersey.

11.01.2022 The results from our community survey that will help develop the Parks and Open Spaces Strategy are in, as we continue several projects across the Shire to enha...nce recreation facilities across the Shire. Projects include an undercover play area at Centenary Park in Mareeba, including new playground equipment, the installation of additional solar lighting at the Bicentennial Lakes in Mareeba to improve community safety, and also the replacement of outdoor gym equipment at Mary Andrews Park in Mareeba. In Kuranda, the new Barron Falls walking trails project and the Jum Rum walking trail upgrade are both nearing completion. Council has also recently completed refurbishment works at the amenities facilities at Irvinebank and Mount Molloy. Refurbishment works are also planned for the Dimbulah Hall and swimming pool administration kiosk area. Thank you to everyone who took the time to give us feedback! READ MORE: https://bit.ly/39dBB4v

11.01.2022 With a heap of rain forecast next week this will be a watch and respond with our roads. Wonderful to see this beautiful rain but we just need to stay safe and be patient and we will get it done as soon as we can

10.01.2022 I attended the Mareeba Remembrance service this morning with other Councillors and our Mayor Toppin. An important date and an even more important legacy to continue. Thank you to the Mareeba sub branch of the RSL for coordinating this event.

09.01.2022 This is a vital transport link that I have campaigned on, worked on, driven on and relied on that we desperately need to see upgraded. It has been a talking point for far too long. We are calling on the state and federal governments to put their money where their mouths are and get started. For too long we have put up with second rate roads. Well with the transport sector never being more important than now, it’s time to support those businesses that cart our product south and bring goods up. #election2020

09.01.2022 I’m looking forward to everyone who does this and does this well. With two kids at 3 & 2, I reckon this will be one to remember!

05.01.2022 Deputy Mayor Davies is correct on this. An election only months away and it would be great to see the candidates on board with this.

05.01.2022 Our new bio security draft plan is up for discussion and out to the public to make submissions.

05.01.2022 You can’t get much better weather then now! Time to explore our own backyard!

04.01.2022 Did you know the original John Doyle Bridge on Anzac Avenue in Mareeba was built in the 1920s? Our Deputy Mayor Cr Kevin Davies Mareeba Shire Councillor provides an update on the bridge upgrade. Historical photos: Mareeba History Facebook Page

03.01.2022 Water security. Popped into Lake Tinaroo today to check out the water levels and enjoy a splash. Never has water security been so paramount. We have the best farmers in the world here and to put simply, they need water and water security. I have and will continue to lobby current and future members of parliament to make a stand on this and commit instead of the usual talkfest we get.

03.01.2022 Do you know someone in our Shire that you think needs a little recognition? This is the perfect opportunity to do this. Check it out!

02.01.2022 Congratulations and welcome to our newest residents in our Shire! Wishing us Councillors could be there to officially welcome you but lucky we have our Mayor Toppin to do the honours !

02.01.2022 A great shot of Mareeba. We are moving into the warmer months now hopefully and looking forward to this prediction of being in a La Niña cycle.
