If anyone catches a Redfin perch in the Macquarie area with red spots or lesions on it, could you please bag it up with some ice ...(dont freeze) and drop it into the DPI office (cnr of Cobra & Hampden Streets, Dubbo) so we can courier it down to the biosecurity lab and get an analysis done. It may be nothing serious, but we want to make sure, so we would appreciate your help. Please share - many thanks. Photo credit: Burrendong Classic 2017 Note: Just to clarify, this fish was caught on the weekend at Burrendong Dam, but there wasnt a chance to take a sample. Were hoping someone might send us a fresh one to test. Its NOT carp herpes virus: that only affects carp, causes different symptoms in carp and hasnt been released in Australia.
