25.01.2022 I've been thinking about my sisters a lot lately. Actually I only have one real sister and I have been thinking a lot about her too. Artsisters are a group of creative ladies who have been hanging around together for a little while now in my life. We have been creating mixed media together in various places and lately our numbers have increased. My real sister has joined in too.
23.01.2022 My version of Frida Khalo from a photograph. Her dress is inspired by one of her Tetuana dresses and the jewelry is inspired by some handmade beads from Mexico that I own. Mixed media on watercolour paper.
20.01.2022 When your garage is full of empty containers and you just can't find one the exact size, you upcycle! You find the exact piece of cardboard packaging, like a laptop box and go for it. You grab a pile of your favourite book pages for collage...... ..and cover up all the graphics. You get out paints... ...and stencils and you are on a roll.
19.01.2022 Hello! I am Lynne Gray. Welcome to my website. Here I hope you will find inspiration and ideas to enhance your own creativity. Ever since I can remember, I have loved making things. Paper, pencils, paints, fabric, textiles and even clay have called to me and begged me to play.... Mixed media is where I spend most of my time these days.
12.01.2022 A used teabag really has so much life left. It makes a wonderful printed image when placed to dry on a piece of watercolour paper. When dry and the tealeaves are removed, there is a small piece of fine paper with delicate naturally made markings. It is ready to use for collage or to draw on.
10.01.2022 Thanks for liking my page everyone. I hope you found your way to my website too which is slowly growing. I haven't been up to posting blogs the last couple of days after falling over in my driveway and having my lips stitched up! Not much fun but I am thankful it wasn't my hands or eyes. The next couple of days I will be preparing to go away on an art retreat with seventeen other arty ladies. I'll post some art from there. In the meantime, here is a short video of a face I'...ve drawn using one of my stencils to create the foundation. Not sure why it is reversed. I am actually right handed. See more
06.01.2022 Mixed media means anything goes. Any material, art supply, household supply, tool, machine and much more can be used to create with. For this traveler's notebook style journal I made for my son, I started with a piece of blind material. Samples of blind fabric can often be purchased for a few dollars at a curtain shop.
04.01.2022 Hello everyone! I am home from the Artsisters retreat and finally put all my art stuff away that was lining my hallway! . Not fully recovered from the fall but much less pain and my face is healing well.... I have just put up another blog post on my website lynnegray.com.au It will show you a little of what we got up to. Some wonderful artworks from the ladies too. There is another blog post in the pipeline and now holidays are just about here I will have more time for art. Maybe a tutorial if I can get my head around the tech stuff!
