25.01.2022 Macedon Ranges Squash Club Hello Everyone!! I hope you are all still well and have kept your sanity during these many weeks!! (& fitness). The latest news is: there has been a Committee Meeting last week, regarding re-starting our season!... In brief, there is a plan which we can enact quickly, once both the State Government and the Council have their systems in-place for indoor competition sport. Kyneton may be more complex with the various users of this facility. An email has been sent to the council asking for an indicative opening date for Kyneton Courts and we are awaiting a reply. We will resume the Summer Season where we left off but with 3 weeks of run-up where Members can get some fitness and touch back into their game. Once we get a firm re-start date from the Council there will be an update to this email. Now would be a good time to start to get yourselves ready for the resumption of competitive squash! Keep well please Everyone! Kind regards, George Hennessy President

18.01.2022 Centre Update 20/11/20 We hope you have all been well. As you may be aware the 23rd of November is our expected reopen date for our centre. While I'm sure many ...of you will have plenty of questions as to what our return to play will look like, the simple answer at this stage is we just don't know. Once the Vic Government, DHHS and Squash & Racquetball Victoria advise us on what we can and can't do, further updates will be provided via our facebook and our website so keep an eye out for that, likely to be Sunday 22nd. Until then this is what we do know. - Juniors 18 and under will continue to have full use of the centre with our trainings run on Tuesday and Friday evenings - Centre Capacity limits to increase to 100 persons including adults. Stay well, stay safe and stay posted

12.01.2022 Macedon Ranges Squash Club Hello Everyone!!... I hope you are all well and have kept your sanity during these many weeks!! Reading the News reports this morning, it seems that we may be only a few weeks away from being able to get back onto the courts ... fingers crossed. As this information becomes clearer we will try to keep everyone informed. The current thinking, for many reasons, is to resume the Summer Season where we left off. Once we get a firm re-start date from both the State Government and the Council there will be an update to this email. In the meantime ... those of you who kept you fitness up and the kilos off ... well done!! To the rest of us which haven't done either ... now would be a good time to start to get yourselves ready for the resumption of competitive squash! (still a month or two away in my opinion) Keep well please Everyone! Kind regards, George Hennessy President

08.01.2022 Macedon Ranges Squash Club Hello All!! Now ........... we were supposed to have the AGM on Monday 23rd march at Kyneton Courts.... The whole facility is closed and the closure is Council wide due to no public meetings being one of the Governments listed items not to hold during this viral outbreak. Then on the Wednesday 25th March after the AGM the new Committee was due to meet for their first outing. For a number of reasons we as a Club probably shouldn't hold our AGM at this point in time with these restrictions in place. The Committee has been in discussions and we are postponing the AGM until further notice. Due to Government guidelines at this time regarding Public meetings & Public Places, the current Committee convenes a meeting on Wednesday 25th March. (Venue TBC - Tammy / Helen??) To record why we have postponed the AGM and to also record the current Committee will continue in care-taker mode ..... until the government lifts it's public meetings ban. As there will be no Squash Club activities occurring over this time, this seems reasonable. AND .... also to record the Summer 2020 Squash season and all Club activities have been suspended, due to Government and Council decisions to close (shire-wide) all Council Recreation Centers, during this viral outbreak. Once the ban has been lifted we will hold our AGM and follow due-process, and noting all the above in the AGM minutes. If you have any comments / thoughts, please feel free to reply? There will be updates to follow as we get more information from the council and Squash Vic. Regards, George Hennessy President 0142 200 025

07.01.2022 Hello everyone, hoping you are well and yes, this is still dragging on!!! After various emails between Committee Members since the above email, at this point in time this Club will not be re-starting our season and not booking any courts. And we have informed the Centre / Council of this. For many reasons, the Committee believes at this time with the limited access and the TOTAL number of people within the Centre being currently set to 20, this includes the Pool, Gym, Squash ...etc.... these set of constraints above make this too hard to run a competition under and too hard to manage.Yes, even our usual "social" hits would not guarantee everyone who turns up could get into the Centre. As the Pool and Gym are also running on a booking scheme to control numbers. The Club's Committee will hold off for a few weeks for these restrictions to ease and this will help the whole place function better in our opinion. Once these restrictions have eased we shall be in touch with the Centre / Council again and see where we are all sitting! We have also asked if the Squash Courts are available to individuals to personally book on the usual hourly rate? And are awaiting a reply. That was the Bad News ............... chin up ... we will get there!! Kind regards, George Hennessy President
