Queensland Health Update on Restricted Activities Massage & Myotherapy Australia -... "Together as industry associations, Massage & Myotherapy Australia, ANTA, ATMS and MA have been working on behalf of our members, asking all state and territory governments to clarify whether remedial massage and myotherapists can continue to practice during Coronavirus restrictions. 02.01.2022 Words shared by ZenThai Shiatsu teacher Gwyn Williams ... ‘ Taking in the good ‘ is a practice where we are rewiring our brain to keep the ‘ positive vibes’ embedded in our long term memory. Due to the overpowering nature of our survival mechanisms there is a natural tendency to remember all the things that make us ‘shudder’ or ‘run’ . This is called by Dr. Rick Hanson our ‘negative bias ‘.... It may of served us well centuries ago when we were getting chased by dinosaurs hungrily hunting us as their breakfast feast , but I question if it serve us well now. ‘ Taking up the good ‘means we hold a YES MOMENT in our mind for twenty or thirty seconds, allowing it to be the information that your mind sees and presses SAVE!! "
01.01.2022 Just a reminder ...... thought I would repost this to help keep you going during this crazy time while the earth is rebalancing and to let you know I am still thinking of your wellbeing. This is to remind everyone - especially my clients that I have told to do your massage ball homework - just how good this is to take time out and reconnect to your body. Remember it is good to get into a routine each day and do some stretching whether this is while you are lying in bed for arm, leg and side stretches - or in a warm shower for your shoulder rolls, back bends and leg stretches !! And to take time out and rest your mind and look after yourself by giving any areas that your body is feeling needs some help to relive any sore spots and to balance your chi (engery) .....PS miss you all - take care & keep well !
01.01.2022 Happy New Decade 2020 ! ....Yes I can see it is going to be an interesting diverse New Year .... found two random chicken eggs in the lotus pot near the Zen entry - investigated and found out a black chicken has been hanging around our place while we were away !! 01.01.2022 This is great information about our Vagus Nerve - and how important it is to learn about it and stimulate it ....especially now...... OM on everyone !! Maria Coles wrote ..... As this has always been of an interest to me, I wanted to share - FYI....... What actually is the Vagus Nerve? VAGUS means wandering & it does just that, a nerve that starts in the brain & wanders down to our intestines & many of our vital organs. This nerve is the KEY for keeping so much of our body healthy. It plays a pivotal role in controlling our parasympathetic nervous system - which is responsible for calming our organs after the stressed ‘fight or flight’ adrenaline response. But not all our vagus nerves are created equal as some may have stronger vagus activity which means your body can relax more quickly after being stressed, others may not The strength of our vagus response is scientifically known as our ‘Vagal Tone’ & can be determined by measuring your heart rate/breathing rate. Every inhalation our heart beats faster in order to speed the flow of oxygenated blood around our body. Breathing out will slow our heart rate....now the bigger differentiation of your inhalation & exhalation heart rate the higher your vagal tone, known as heart rate variability HRV (meaning your body can relax faster after stress) So to stimulate our Vagus Nerve & encourage good Vagal Tone -: ( I do the following ) * Practice to sit & notice yourself Breathing - try slow, even rhythmic breathing coming from the bottom of your belly to tone the Vagus nerve * Repeating the sound OM will stimulate this nerve and improve Vagal tone that increases positive emotions. * As well the presence of a healthy diet increases tone in our vagus nerve. Our body’s incredible & I wanted to share some Vagus Nerve love as this is the pathway to wellness. Be well my friends Namastè Maria
