16.01.2022 Did you know that there are a lot of collagen-hydrolysate products on the market are blended with ground-up gelatin? This does make the collagen cheaper to sell, but can cause digestive distress: bloating, gas and bacterial overgrowth. Make sure the collagen hydrolysate you’re using is as good as Saturee’s

15.01.2022 What is our metabolism? Simply put, it is how well our cells use energy to do the jobs they are designed to do. The metabolism is the rate at which we convert calories and oxygen into energy, AND, how efficiently/effectively we use that fuel. It doesn’t just affect how weight gain or lose weight, it also affects how we function from what we see, all the way down to the cells we can’t. ... Every single part of our body is made up of CELLS and since our hormones are made BY cells FOR cells, it affects both our hormonal output and input (response and receive). Our metabolism affects: Detoxification Digestion Adrenals Thyroid Menstrual Cycle/Reproduction Pancreas Insulin Sensitivity Inflammation Immune System This is why focussing on diets that suppress and restrict symptoms, like weight gain or autoimmunity is a bandaid that often makes the problem worse in the long run Heal your metabolism and heal yourself Many factors affect our metabolism: nutrition, frequency of meals, environment, mental state/emotions, breathing, the nervous system, our movement. How do we get started in recovering our metabolism? Nourish our bodies (vs. restricting) Provide enough calories from protein, carbohydrates and fats Take deep breaths (diaphragmatic breathing) Make stress reduction and down time a priority (doing sweet f**k all) Eat frequently and consistently Prioritise sleep (PLEASE )

14.01.2022 Everyone can benefit from eating liver, particularly beef liver - as it is one of the most nutrient dense foods available with a nutrient profile like no other. Liver is one of few foods that contains a high abundance of essential nutrients in bioavailable forms, that even in small and infrequent servings it can still be enough to make a noticeable difference to overall health. Now, I know that most people couldn’t bare the thought of preparing or eating fresh liver (myself... included), let alone it can be hard to source quality liver and it takes time to make. That’s why Saturee have made A+ Liver Capsules which are: 100% Australian grass-fed and finished beef liver Non-defatted leaving fat-soluble vitamin A, D, E & K Freeze-dried which preserves heat-sensitive nutrients 100% purity: no fillers, preservatives, or anti-caking agents No excuses. Get your liver in.

13.01.2022 To all of my amazing clients, Sending you all the warmest of wishes and festive greetings this holiday season. 09.01.2022 A lot of the time, I see technique being blamed for people getting injured in their workouts or pain from being at the gym. Many will say it’s your butt wink, knee valgus or hip shift that cause back/hip/knee pain. When in fact there are many other factors that may be causing these issues experienced when training. Unfortunately many of these non-sexy factors often get overlooked by clinicians, trainers or coaches and bad technique/poor form gets the blame. This is not saying that poor form/bad technique can’t contribute to injuries/pain - it certainly can. But if you’re ONLY blaming a butt wink, knee valgus or hip shift you are missing the bigger picture.

08.01.2022 Don’t be too fat. Don’t be too thin. Don’t be too large, but don’t be too small. Eat up. Slim down. Stop eating so much. Don’t eat so fast. Order a salad. Don’t eat carbs. Skip dessert. You need to lose weight. Fit into that dress. Go on a diet. Watch what you eat. ... Eat celery. Chew gum. Drink lots of water. Don’t drink milk. You have to fit into those jeans. God. You look like a skeleton. Why don’t you just eat? You look emaciated. You look sick. Eat a burger. Men like women with some meat on their bones. Be small. Be light. Be little. Be petite. Be feminine. Be a size zero. Be a double zero. Be nothing. Be less than nothing. Words by #camillerainville

03.01.2022 Have you experienced this little dance before? Step 1: You request bloodwork for a routine health check up from your doctor because you feel as if you have some symptoms that aren’t quite right.... Step 2: Without knowing you, the doctor looks at you and say you look healthy, and that you don’t need bloods Step 3: You now have to justify yourself, saying you have irregular periods, insomnia, low energy, bloating, etc. The doctor then offers you prescription drugs Step 4: You hold your ground, requesting you want blood work done. The doctor agrees to half the markers you asked for. Step 5: You come in to get your results and you get told everything is fine. Maybe you’re offered prescription medication again. Step 6: You find a new doctor. If you’re not happy with the service you’re getting - go elsewhere!
