24.01.2022 Candle Magick Hint #1 Candle Magick is one of the safest first steps you can try for your first attempt into the world of magick. Where possible, use beeswax candles, but everyday candles will work just as well .Having a taper candle to light the main spell or alter candle and a metal snuffer are preferable but once again, you work with what you have which is the very essence of a natural witch. This brings you up from the step of wishing and hoping ,to actively trying to... make a difference to a situation or person. It is essentially just one of many tools you can use to tunnel and streamline intent. There is still much more to be learned than just putting flame to wick however, and the more advanced you get, to be honest - the more complicated it can become - but oh so worth it if this form of Magick speaks to you on an intuitive level. 23.01.2022 Southern Hemisphere Sabbat's. The wonderful confusion regarding which is the correct time to celebrate which solstice has been going on for as many lifetimes as I can remember. I generally think now days, its just because people like an excuse to dress up and eat candy! There is nothing to say you cannot do this in Australia on October 31 if that is what makes you happy - just acknowledge that its for the commercial reasons , not for the honoring of the seasons. Make sure y...ou educate your children on the true meaning before they get lost in their sugar high.But the bottom line is very simple.As a general rule the southern and northern hemisphere celebrate them at opposite spokes of the wheel. So May 1st is OUR celebration of Samhain, and what a glorious time that will be. so for now, start collecting your bits and pieces for your alter and your celebration.It is after all, our New Year and should be treated with respect. It is when we honor the dead and a time for cleansing and releasing all that no longer serves its purpose.Its the perfect time to celebrate moving into the next stage of the corona virus experience and perhaps,as a collective, we can add a little something extra into our Magick and help it move out permanently. 20.01.2022 Creating an outside Circle. Creating an outdoor sacred space is going to depend on how comfortable you are expressing your magickal side as much as your home environment. If you are renting your home, then you will need of course to have a more portable and transient style. If you own your home, then you may want to consider something more permanent. Either way, as long as you have a compass - you can achieve a very usable space. Circles can be as individual as you are - and... they should be too. After all, it is your energy that will flow and gather within.As long as you follow the basic plan, you cannot go far wrong. The traditional Wicca circles are 9 feet in diameter - this was thought to evoke the power of Mars. Walk slowly round your backyard barefoot, hands by your sides palms flat facing the earth. Find the best energetic position that draws you towards it from the choices available to cast your circle. When you have found the right spot that ticks all your individual boxes ( privacy, position, energetic connection etc) Map out the circle using stones,pot plants,bricks or whatever you have available. Many the time I have mowed my original circle edging to define the space and put a carpet tile down on each point till i could find something more suitable ! use your compass to find the direction of north, south,east and west and mark them with a stone or even a pot plant for now. This is now your basic circle,its up to you how you define the details. Just keep in mind that each direction has an element assigned to it that should be acknowledged . North is represented by Earth and its associated with green or black,Taurus,Virgo and Capricorn. South is represented by Fire and is associated with Red, Leo, sag and Aries, East is represented by Air and is associated with yellow, Aquarius,Libra and Gemini. West is represented by Water and is associated with Blue , Scorpio,Cancer and Pisces. Using something that defines and represents each of the directions is important for future use. 19.01.2022 A black moon, time for some serious manifestations. The energy connected to this new moon needs to be harnessed and matched for the intentions you wish to imbibe it with. Some like to work with candles or herbs but for me, its crystals that work best with this particular energy, The best crystals I have found at this time are: Citrine for money intentions, Smokey quartz for cutting bad habits , Rose quartz for personal relationships,... Labradite for career upgrades, Obsidian for blocking negative individuals and ill intent. Clear quartz points or orbs for spiritual magnification. Something else to try during a black moon is water scrying. Water is an emotional element and the black moon amplifies emotions.This makes a prefect combination for global insights as well s those closer to home. See more

17.01.2022 Covid has moved from the spotlight and decided to hover in the shadows till later. While in isolation mode however, there have been a lot of changes going on in the background. The bricks and mortar component associated with this page will soon be playing a bigger part in bringing Witchy, Wiccan and magickal supplies to the hunter area. 15.01.2022 Familiars There are a lot of interesting myths centered around familiars. It was commonly believed in medieval times, that they were spirits that took the form of animals. It was believed that Evil witches would work with demon animals to do harm but good witches would work with angels or faeries as familiars to heal and help. They were normally represented as small animals such as cats, mice,ferrets etc.The familiars where either inherited or gifted from another witch or were drawn to a young witch in the making.They were believed to be protectors as well as teachers to their young witch-lings. Today, the idea of familiars is slightly different. Familiars are now more of a soul connection and can be found in almost any form.They are more commonly emotional and spiritual protectors rather than magical assistants in the old ways.

13.01.2022 Candle Magick Hint #2 If your ready for some more advanced candle work, You can try working with inscriptions and dressing the candle. When inscribing candles always write from the wick end to the base so that the candle burns down in the direction it would be read, There are several different magickal alphabets that can be used and you should research for the one that connects with you best before use. The last step is always dressing the candle or anointing it with oil. M...aking your own oil is always preferable but it is very time consuming. If you do purchase an anointing oil, preferable buy one from someone with the right intentions. The type of oil differs for the candles use so once again, research if you don't know which to use.The candle should be dressed from the center out towards each end individually. Needless to say, please be safety conscious. never leave a flame unattended or preform candle magick when inebriated. See more

08.01.2022 Protection Hint #1 When it comes to protective charms, history is filled with a multitude of options.There are candle spells, oils,enchantments rituals,crystals, herbs....I could go on and on.Again, many of these have different suggestions depending on whether it is for personal protection, home protection, travel.....it can get a bit overwhelming for those feeling unsettled to start with. I think this is where a lot of unscrupulous people start taking advantage. So the bot...tom line is this. Just like everybody is unique, every solution needs to be tailored for a specific person for a specific purpose.You need to find what works for you. If crystals are your thing, then research the crystals and the people you are buying them off.If you work better with herbs, then give that a go and adjust it for what works for you.By all means, ask for assistants of those that have experience in the area that you are interested in but also use your common sense.They may just give you the groundwork knowledge that you can adapt to suit you best. 08.01.2022 Creating an internal sacred space, Depending on who your teachers is, what country you learnt it in , or how long you have been living this lifestyle, you will been given some very different hard and fast rules concerning how an altar should be set up. I personally don't even use the word altar. I do however have a sacred space inside my home that is used with particular purpose. For those that are just starting out or for those that are finally able to be more open about th...eir life choices, can I just tell you to start trusting your instincts from day one.You will be evolving with your chosen craft and find the right set up for you. The fundamental basics to start with is to have a dedicated space- something that is not going to be disturbed by anyone( which is highly important energetically.). Next is all about balance. If you follow the God and Goddess ( not all sacred space uses do by the way) then normally the rule is Goddess tools on the left and God to the right. Many Wicca altars have colored candles to represent the elements. My tip is very simply to get all the tools that you would use, hold them individually while exchanging energy with them and then place them one by one intuitively. It may take some time but trust me - if your connected, they will tell you where they need to be! See more

Its always a smart idea to strengthen your boundaries if you start to feel uncomfortable. Mentally scan your aura for possible attachments or weakness and add an extra layer of protective intent. 02.01.2022 Smudging. The most often used is the white sage and it is commonly available through most new age stores. It is almost now become the go to of all smudge sticks.Unfortunately, many of the commercial brands are no longer as vigilant in their quality as they once were, and yes, it does make a difference. It is not just sage you are burning but many leftover pesticides from the production stage. Where possible, choose organic or buy from a reputable supplier. If you know a local grower you can trust - even better! I know many hedge witches that actively grow their own these days and I have found that the ones with lavender,eucalyptus or cinnamon included work beautifully for our Australian needs. 02.01.2022 SCRYING The standard idea of scrying conjures up images of a little gypsy lady hunched over a crystal ball. I must confess to owning and using a crystal ball myself but that is just because I personally love beautiful crystals and connect with them well. Before I was gifted my crystal ball however, I used many different traditional scrying methods and most of them I still use in conjunction with my everyday life. Scrying is simply the art of using our everyday physical vision and connecting it with our intuition or third eye .Many of you probably already incorporate the other Scrying methods without realizing it. If crystal gazing is not for you, perhaps you should try water scrying, earth scrying ( crystal balls full into this category), fire scrying or air scrying.
