The announcement from Basketball Queensland is in the previous post. #ANNOUNCEMENT | Earlier today Basketball Queensland released their 'Return to Training Guide'. Please see their post below Although some restrictions have been eased for Stage 2 - Mackay Basketball are still only allowed to have 20 people in the facility at any one time, which includes our staff.... Based on this, MBI will implement a staged return to training - a plan that we are currently working on. Once finalised, MBI will communicate this strategy to our members and stakeholders through the appropriate channels. For now, we please continue to ask for your patience. 20.01.2022 Annual General Meeting: Friday 11 December 2020 Mackay Aquatic Recreational Centre (CQ Uni Pool) 193 Boundary Road, Oorlaea, Mackay QLD 4740... This year's AGM we will have 3 positions being vacated on the committee. Club Secretary Club TreasurerClub Vice President Without these positions filled, the club cannot register as an Association and the funds we have raised with raffles etc. will have to be donated to another sporting club/clubs. We are also looking for a Registra (to lighten the load on Secretary) Parents if you have young players, the committee is a rewarding way to share an interest in your child's chosen sport. 'If you say you are too busy, then your the one! - Busy people make great committee members, they get the job done and meetings don't drag out because busy people value their time. The perfect opportunity to offer a helping hand to your club without having to give up any more than 2 hours a month with the exception of sign-on periods for 2 weeks twice a year. Being a committee member will take up very little of your time, give you an opportunity to provide input into decisions made behind the scenes, and to feel proud of your contribution to this Club. A number of our previous committee members have shared their experience on being a committee member for Magpies Basketball. I will post their letters on our Facebook Page. Please consider being a committee member as the club needs leadership, representation from teams/players, ideas for Awards presentation, Christmas Breakup and even for the AGM come from committee members. Opportunity to be heard and also be the person to make sure ideas are actioned. Club committee meets once a month, meetings average an hour. Meeting preparation not normally more than an hour a month. Nominations for committee members can be sent to [email protected] - you can nominate yourself or nominate another member you believe would be a valuable asset to our club committee. You can also nominate an Aunt/Grandparent/or friend, if they are not currently a member, the club will cover their membership fee.

19.01.2022 Hi Magpies Basketball members, if you did not receive a text message on the weekend regarding return to play please Private Message your Full name, mobile #, DOB, team you played in last and either YES (returning) or NO (not returning). Junior details are required before 5pm Friday as we are preparing team lists prior to Junior Sign-on this Saturday. Senior teams deadline is 20th July as Senior competition commences Sunday 26th July.

18.01.2022 Please see below fixture grid for grading, 1st of August. Please note that grading is run a bit differently than normal rounds: Games are only 2 x 10 minute halves... Team plays 2 games a day To make sure that all teams have their registered players in computer for the game, players need to have registered before Saturday, as names cannot be added in courtside anymore. If you have not yet registered, please do so before Saturday as the referee’s will not let someone take the court until they are on the courtside app & as it takes a bit of time to get them in, it cannot be done courtside. Admin staff will be at stadium all day Saturday so if there is anything urgently needed, please see your team manager before going to the office. Have FUN!

02.01.2022 As there are no games over the Christmas Break Magpies Basketball training will return to normal in January 2021, we will advise date training will recommence. Games for the current season will return 13th - 14th - 15th February 2021. Have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year - Please stay safe!

02.01.2022 REGISTRATION REMINDER: This season Mackay Basketball will not be taking registrations on Game Day. The ability to add names to computer courtside has been removed. This means if registration has not been paid the day prior to 1st game, the player will not be able to play that first game. SENIORS 1st game is Sunday 26th July (tomorrow) so Saturday 25th July (today) is last chance to register to play Seniors 1st game tomorrow. JUNIORS 1st game is grading game Saturday 1st August, so Thursday 30th July is Magpies deadline to allow for teams to be collated by Friday 31st July to allow the player to take the court Saturday 1st August. If you have not already confirmed returning to play this season, please do so ASAP by texting 0427 020 357 with players Full name DOB and YES returning or NO not returning.
