24.01.2022 Term 3 Week 2 is in full swing! Face to face teaching is available for all students (other than Kinder Beat due to social distancing requirements). We will continue to offer remote lessons for any new or old students and this is becoming an extremely popular option in a number of cases.... Good luck to all of our students diligently preparing for both Practical and Theory Exams this Term.

24.01.2022 Celebration Day concerts series completed a very meaningful year for our students and families. Voice, Speech and Drama, Guitar, Drums and Piano were contained in each of the concerts. Here are our other two sets of performers with their awards.

14.01.2022 The short series 'Queen's Gambit' is currently excitingly showing on Netflix. This National Geographic feature is one that further underlines this story. We recommend it to all families. You will learn further about neuroplasticity and how willing dedicated effort to a difficult task will increase the capacity of the brain. Just like what we see in music students every day. Regards to all, Steve and Berna.

14.01.2022 The Celebration Day event will now be held at the Walter Reid auditorium due to Qld Govt changes this week. Text messages have been sent to families of entrants today with details. 10.01.2022 Congratulations! Every entered Piano, Music Theory, Strings and Speech student of Major Player has passed their AMEB exams for 2020 with most achieving Honours Grades and above. 08.01.2022 2020 Celebration Day at PILBEAM THEATRE Sunday 29th November. All Major Player students will be encouraged by their teachers to perform on stage at least once during this day. As there will not be a Yamaha Concert for Piano this year it is our chance to involve every student, not just Piano. All levels of students from our least experienced are strongly encouraged to be involved. Mature aged students are always a highlight at the Yamaha day and we look forward to seeing ...them involved too. Families will be able to book tickets at a very reduced price for the Pilbeam. Also, you will be able to indicate a general time preference for the day on an ‘Expressions of Interest’ form available from tomorrow. There will not be a limit on numbers of tickets for each family. We will run a series of performances during the day to allow this. We hope families and students will be motivated to take advantage of this significant opportunity for personal growth. Performing at The Pilbeam may be a once in lifetime chance for many. Further specifics will be provided as we plan for this exciting event.

08.01.2022 This is so inspirational & can display how music can enhance your life no matter what age. Worth viewing if you haven’t seen it.

07.01.2022 Please bring your facemarks this week! Lessons will be provided this week for all students at their normal times, but with the non-mandatory recommendation for facemarks where social distancing is more difficult, we would prefer teachers and students to observe mask wearing this week. Additionally could we please ask that parents and carers please drop students off and pick them up from directly outside the waiting room at their lesson time only without anyone congregatin...g inside. Fingers crossed that all families will then be able to enjoy a happy and fulfilling Holiday Break together.

07.01.2022 Zoom Meetings Bookings. Each student is now in Week 2 of Term on a recurring meeting basis. This means that your Meeting ID and Password will be the same throughout the Term. That is, you use your same details each week as advised in Week 1 of Term 2 (last week). If you have happened to delete last week's email then please do ask for us to send a further copy. Thankyou to everyone who has willingly transitioned to this method of engagement. We are all growing with this ...experience and becoming more and more familiar with what works best in this new environment! Remember to be early to the waiting room and be organised so that you get best value from your time. Regards to all, Steve and Berna.

06.01.2022 It is great to see all our families returning since Wednesday after a well earned break. Lessons have all restarted at your normal times and we will end the first week on Saturday afternoon.
