23.01.2022 World-first research by the Malaria Atlas Project, based at Telethon Kids and Curtin University, has revealed major inequalities in access to healthcare around ...the world, finding 3.16 billion people who can only travel by foot are unable to reach a healthcare facility within an hour. A decade ago we couldn’t have done this because the data just didn’t exist, said lead researcher Associate Professor Daniel Weiss. This is a great example of big data enabling us to understand and visualise important health issues in ways we couldn’t demonstrate before."
