06.01.2022 Hello everyone - hurry up and book your tickets for this movie! Filmed in the South West, it shows in graphic detail what is happening to our forests - our last... forests. Buy a ticket for someone you know who believes that our native forests are protected. Buy Tickets Here: https://heart.sales.ticketsearch.com/sales/salesevent/2450 Cry of the Forests is a brand new documentary film that shines a light on the plight of our magnificent South West forests and their role in drawing down and storing carbon. Our forests are vital to slowing run-away climate change, yet instead of preserving them we are cutting them down at an alarming rate for charcoal, firewood and woodchips. Forests play a crucial role in the water cycle but the streams that once bubbled through these ecological communities are drying up and the critical habitat they provide for endangered species is shrinking. Cry of the Forests takes viewers to the heart of the forests to see first-hand the beauty of these towering ecosystems and the life they support. Margaret River locals play a central role in the film which includes footage of the rarely seen destruction of our forests happening just minutes from the centre of town. Will we save our forests in time for them to save us? This is a film that all Western Australians need to see. Audience Q&A Following the documentary screening, a question and answer session will be held with the filmmaker, WAFA spokespeople and local characters who appear in the documentary.
