21.01.2022 LOCAL FIRE BAN South West Region Due to heightened fire conditions, a local fire ban has been imposed for the following Local Government Areas: Toowoomb...a Southern Downs Goondiwindi Western Downs Maranoa Murweh Quilpie Bulloo Paroo Balonne For residents in these areas, the ban will remain in place until 2355 hours Tuesday, 8 December. As Assistant Commissioner RFS I am incredibly proud to be a part of thi...s team Volunteer boots were on the ground from the moment the fires were reported, battling more than 3000 bush fires from September 2019. Our RFS volunteers supported the bush fire response with firefighting, catering, station preparations, logistical support, operational planning, community education and evacuations. Today, we stop on the 10th hour on the 10th day of the 10th month to honour and pay tribute to our fallen firefighters, as well as their families, friends and colleagues. We are forever grateful for the sacrifice they made to protect others.
