25.01.2022 Was great to welcome our Prep and Year 1’s back this week. Not long until we can welcome all our students back to school, we sure have missed them all!



25.01.2022 Today we will gather in a different way for our school community to commemorate Remembrance Day. We honour our servicemen and women, and we give thanks. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. Lest we forget.

24.01.2022 SAVE THE DATE! Our Mater Dei Primary School Parents & Friends Association are inviting you to the Mater Dei Race Day, held on Saturday, 24th October 2020. More details on this great event will follow in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!

20.01.2022 HPE Week is a week that celebrates the role of Health & Physical Education in schools and communities. The aim is to promote the importance of HPE in the Australian Curriculum and highlight the importance of HPE to the learning and development of children and young people. We’ve had a great week with not only outdoor activities but also Just Dance competitions and yoga! It’s an active body that promotes an active mind!... #HPEWeek



19.01.2022 Our very first Zoom liturgy was a huge success. As part of our Reconciliation Week liturgy we created a Sea of Hands, showing we’re all in this together and sharing our vision for a full reconciled Australia. #NRW2020 #InThisTogether2020

18.01.2022 What a way to welcome our students back on Friday with our opening liturgy and commissioning of our 2020 Year 6 Leaders. We also unveiled our Walking in the Light video, what a fantastic showcase of all that we are at Mater Dei. Welcome all to the 2020 school year, and we would love to see you all at the Welcome BBQ on Thursday, 13th February, at 4:30pm following on from the open classroom sessions!

16.01.2022 Our final camp is Year 4! Year 4 have been having a great time Koojarewon Youth Camp ! We have participated in so many fun activities and have even worked on our teamwork and listening skills to name a few. We have all enjoyed spending time here working with our friends. So many of the students have shown the Together Terry and Including Iggy dispositions in everything they have done whilst on camp.

16.01.2022 Did you get a slice? 'A Slice of Mater Dei at Home' had it's inaugural run this week, and was a great success! During this time of remote learning, we will be doing trays of chocolate slice to take home. Only $5.00 for a tray of 6 pieces of slice! Ordering is done through Flexischools, and cut off is Monday at 3pm. Pick up of the trays will be on Tuesdays, between 8:30am and 1:30pm at the tuckshop.

15.01.2022 Adaptability! That's the Mater Dei Way! The Semi Finals are currently taking place for this year's Drama Festival, and we are able to ensure our performers still get to share the experience with their families. Good luck, and we look forward to the finals!!

14.01.2022 Our Yr 6 cohort enjoying some fun in the sun during their last week - and what a week it is for them. We will be farewelling our 2019 Graduates at the End of Year Mass this Friday, at 9am in the William Morris Centre.

12.01.2022 Welcome Back to Term 2... take 2! It was great to see so many bright, and happy faces on the school grounds today. Our Zoom meetings were a great way to connect over the remote learning period, and we had the chance to say hello to all of our students via Zoom this morning! Thanks to the parents who joined in, it was great to see the support. Going forward we will be aiming to connect with our Mater Dei community even more, together apart.

These awards are to recognise those members of the TCS community who lead, create and/or provide the support needed to create exemplary places of learning. 11.01.2022 What a fantastic experience for our Year 5 & 6’s last week when they were fortunate to partake in a great initiative from the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS).

08.01.2022 A blizzard of books is arriving at Mater Dei and everyone is invited! The theme of our Scholastic Book Fair is Arctic Adventure, where we hope you will find snow much to read! Our Book Fair runs from Wednesday 12th to Tuesday 18th August, and will be open for shopping after school from 3:10 to 3:45 pm every day. We look forward to seeing you and your family at our Book Fair! Remember, all purchases benefit our school.

05.01.2022 This Sunday, a group of Year 6 students are hiking 6km around Picnic Point to raise funds for Base Services. This is such a vital local service which provides assistance and support to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. 2020 has been a tough year for most but a really hard year for others and Base Services have seen an influx of people seeking their assistance. If you have a few dollars to spare the students would really appreciate your support. Thank you!

03.01.2022 We had our first Zoom sessions this morning! It was fantastic to see all the smiling faces at home. We miss not having everyone together, but it was great to be able to interact with you today. Make sure you tune in for your daily class check ins!

03.01.2022 We are getting back in to the swing of things in Term 3, and starting some of our clubs up again! On Tuesday we enjoyed some robotics in Tech Time. We built a bulldozer attachment for Dash and used it to clear cotton ball snow , Minute to win it style. We also programmed Dash to do some snow ploughing using the Blockly app.

01.01.2022 What a day for Touch Football!! Mater Dei UNDEFEATED in the 2020 SWQ Primary School Touch Football held on the weekend. The girls and boys touch teams were undefeated in 5 exhausting rounds. What an exciting and proud day for all involved! Everyone’s support for the children was kindly appreciated.
