21.01.2022 If you are living with a disability, mental health condition, injury or illness atWork Australia are here to help you. atWork Australia is a Disability Employment Services provider, working with people living with a disability, injury, mental health condition or illness, helping them to find sustainable, local work. To do that, we work with people to identify their goals and aspirations, build skills and job-readiness and support them through interviews and into employment ... as well as work with prospective employers to ensure their needs are met. In short, our approach is to support a person in the way that most helps them transform their life. At the heart of what we do is the belief that employment transforms lives, not only the lives of individuals, also the lives of their family and friends and the communities they live in. This belief governs all that we do. And how we do it. See more

10.01.2022 ARTISTS AT THE EXPO - MINDSETTLE Lisa Behan lives and works as a creative collaborator in Brisbane, Queensland. She has been passionately researching the ways that art can have a positive impact on health with a focus on the calming and restorative benefits of nature. With a deep concern for the rise of anxiety in our hyper-connected world, her work strives to enrich society with the solace of natural patterns and rhythms. Inspired by walks in nature, Lisa began focussin...g her art on the development of tranquil visual stimulus in 2017, with the drive of increasing calm and wellbeing in viewers. Mindsettle is the culmination of her work and is now being put to functional use by calming patients in various clinical settings, including the Royal Brisbane and Womens Hospital (RBWH). Mindsettle was designed to be a powerful catalyst for people to slow down, feel centred and stay calm through art. Mindsettle uses a mixed media approach, using natural images alongside an original soundtrack to invoke a deep sense of release in viewers. 05.01.2022 At Upbeat Arts we help people change their lives through our innovative and proven Vocal and Performing Arts programs. We take people on the sidelines of society through a journey to performing on Centre stage in leading arts venues across the country. Our members come from challenging places. Many have unstable housing, many have issue with their mental or physical health. Others will be isolated from community for one of a host of reasons. We offer a pathway with a method proven through independent research to improve the health outcomes of members. They join, and they are welcomed. They rehearse and learn new talents. They connect with others, build their skills and their team work and then they perform in public, in venues large and small. Together we help them build their self-esteem and create a new future
