03.01.2022 My assignment was to photograph the transgender community who had been given the right to vote in Pakistan. The Hijras who have been victims of persecution an...d violence were hoping that the new laws would help stop the wide-spread discrimination against them. During my assignment I was rescued by the Hijras from a gang of fundamentalists who wanted to beat me up, though the demonstrators were carrying signs saying, Death to all Westerners. Perhaps they had other intentions. See more
