23.01.2022 For those of you that are concerned about cyber security with respect to Huawei building the 5G mobile network. Think of this. There are 30 odd million mobile phones in this country, of which I would estimate that about 5% are properly secured. Common passwords and poor facial and fingerprint recognition implementation and other deficiencies are a much bigger security issue. Try this. Download a facebook picture of a friend and show that picture to their iPhone, and "bingo" i...t unlocks. 3D facial recognition will help with this. Huawei Pro30 Series phones cannot be unlocked this way. They are streets ahead. Many hacks are caused by human error. Firewalls won't protect you if you invite the monster in. All you do is teach the firewall that it is a good monster. Should anyone be interested, I have a one page summary (not done by me) listing 6 steps you can take. It only takes one weak link in the chain. PM me and I will send it. Stay Safe. This is general advice, so always consult a professional before you act on any advice. Cheers Mike See more

03.01.2022 Who's that knocking on my door? This ATO phone scam went one step further, after the victim hung up on the scammers, two con men impersonating federal officers showed up at the victims door. They had an eftpos machine. How brazen can you get! Make sure you check all official IDs of visitors. Help for my Queensland friends, if you need help. http://brisbanecomputerepair.com.au/index.php

01.01.2022 Warning! Scams With all the goings on with the major banks and financial institutions, there seems to be a flood of fake emails, asking you to verify and / or check your accounts. These will almost all be fake and fishing websites Popular ones at the moment are Paypal and the Commonwealth bank of Australia. Often they will address you as "client", "customer" or the name part of your email address. It is highly dangerous to follow the links and give any login information. If ...you feel message is genuine, then go directly to your bank etc login in the normal way. Use virtual (on screen) keyboard option if available, and never save your login details to your browser. If the message is genuine, it will be available in the messages section of the bank or financial institution's site. Take care and keep your money safe. Ensure that your computer's security is up to date with a reputable paid for product. The free ones are not recommended for your banking computers. Change your passwords often and get a regular checkup of your computer hardware to make sure that it has not been compromised. This will only cost you around $50.00. If you like to play on the Internet, that is fine, but do not use the same computer for banking. Please fell free to contact me if you have any issues. Regards Mike O'Brien 0418151829 See more
