25.01.2022 OCTOBER - the second month of Spring. I think El Ninya is going to have some say over our weather patterns for the rest of this season as well as Summer, but then we might be green all the way to Autumn. So, back to October - Bryan is attending VegOut Farmers Market at the Peanut Oval in St Kilda on Saturday ... Don is going to be at Kingston Farmers Market at the William Fry Reserve on Saturday, and is then heading to South Geelong for their Sunday Farmers Market. If you want to pre-order then text - Bryan - 0409 005 984 Don - 0428 553 600 And the weather - Saturday - top of 28 - Sunday - top of 18 Have a great weekend

25.01.2022 The trend continues - market days =rainy days So raincoats and gumboots will be appropriate attire for the coming weekend. ... Abbotsford - at Carlton - Bryan will be there Spotswood (Saturday) Mulgrave (Sunday) Don will attend both. Have a great shopping weekend and make sure you travel more than 5 k just for the hell of it

24.01.2022 Another Saturday in Melbourne - an abundance of farmers markets happening, nice spring weather and plenty of produce about. Bryan and Lisa are loading up the vans right now and will be at both Gasworks in Albert Park and Boroondara in Hawthorn ready to go at 8 am this morning. Don is already setting up at Brighton and tomorrow he will be at Mulgrave from 8 am. ... Enjoy the freedom of choice

23.01.2022 The decision to exclude farmers markets from permitted food retailers has been overturned! Both Coburg Farmers Market and Alphington Farmers Market will be runn...ing this weekend. After a crazy day lobbying, Miranda and other VFMA accredited farmers market reps have just come off a phone meeting with decision-makers and the Government have overturned the ruling to exclude farmers markets from trading! At this late notice not all stallholders will be able to attend but we will open the gates for anyone who can and we beg you to rally last minute and show your support for Victorian farmers and producers, and the kick-arse MFM team. Please help us make accredited farmers markets count!

21.01.2022 Don't kill the mice: PETA cause backlash among Aussie farmers. Comments made by the animal rights group about the mouse plague have been labelled as ridiculous and insulting to Aussie farmers doing it tough. Read more: https://o60.me/T8PZI0

20.01.2022 Collingwood Farmers Market makes its return to Yarra this Saturday morning, and we are thankful to Carlton North Primary School for offering its grounds so we c...an create a new 5km radius for Melbourne households. Find your #CollingwoodFM regulars including asparagus from Jonella Farm Sweet Corn & Veg, Schulz Organic Dairy, Milawa Free Range Poultry, Jones Potatoes, Mount Zero Olives, Mike's Mussels and many more this Saturday 12 September from 8am - 1pm. We’re working on our plans to see us through lockdown and to make sure Melbourne shoppers have access to Victorian produce through all the upcoming stages. Remember, please shop one per household, shop and go, mask up, respect your 1.5m and help accredited farmers markets stay compliant and trading. Thank you for supporting us in this relocation. #melbournefarmersmarkets #jointhefoodrevolution #growninvic #whogrewmyfood #cityofyarra

20.01.2022 Friendly little bugger

15.01.2022 Good sort of a spring day for tomorrow’s farmers markets - Bryan will be hosting at Collingwood (in Carlton) and Don is going to be in sunshine in Sunshine and then at Eltham on Sunday. Have a great weekend.

15.01.2022 4 markets this weekend - 3 on Saturday (Gasworks, Brighton and Boroondara) 1 on Sunday (Eltham)

14.01.2022 Farmers Markets closed by DHHS. I think this follows on from the media hype over the so called ‘food market fiasco’ last weekend - that WASN’T a farmers market. The ‘media hype’ from Murdoch Media was a culmination of an ongoing campaign to close down the farmers markets. ... Under the banner of this huge media group are major newspapers - Herald Sun, the Weekly Times (Newscorp) and many many regional and local newspapers that influence delivery of relevant information. Foxtel and Skynews have input into what we hear about global events and local happenings. Many local, state and national radio stations are also under the Murdoch Media banner. The amount of work that the Victorian Farmers Market Association (VFMA) and associated Market management groups and individuals into ensuring every possible protocol of both food and human safety at farmers markets is unbelievable - and yet this ‘outside power’ can influence Government, can take away customer choice, and eliminate farmers rights to trade the way they want. So, I ask this question only ? In the food industry right across this wonderful country of ours, which ‘leading food retailers’ do you think would be (combined) one of the BIGGEST ADVERTISERS (and therefore income earners) for Murdoch ? I rest my case !

14.01.2022 STAGE 4 LOCKDOWN in Melbourne and STAGE 3 in Regional Victoria - these restrictions will NOT affect our distribution network. It’s business as usual ......but if DaRona isn’t bad enough, this news just came through.

13.01.2022 FARMERS MARKETS THIS WEEKEND Gasworks and Brighton on Saturday then Eltham on Sunday. Over 70 % chance of rain both days so go prepared

12.01.2022 This young bloke comes to our factory in Sth Yarra multiple times each morning. Feeds himself first, then grabs a beak full and flys off to feed their young ones.

11.01.2022 Big Question. Would our water authorities and Governments ever consider doing this ? Cost should NOT be a barrier ! Maybe even the Murray-Darling basin might benefit with NO algae

10.01.2022 More farmers markets this weekend - rain is forecast for Saturday (70% chance) and even though it sounds ominous it won’t happen until the afternoon (let’s hope). So West Footscray and Collingwood Children’s Farm on Saturday and then Flemington on Sunday morning

08.01.2022 A bit of light relief- just for fun

06.01.2022 Dreadful decision by DHHS last night. Hope the 'rest day' clears the thinking and sees this changed before next weekend. #fromtheheartofthefarm

05.01.2022 This weekend’s farmers markets will see Bryan at Abbotsford on Saturday (to be held in Carlton) and Don is going to be at Coburg and then Mulgrave on Sunday

05.01.2022 WOW ! The shit fight goes on. Turns out that some ‘ Government Goof’ ( no names ) fucked up. So the markets are back on - at 8:30 pm the day before the market starts - like 7 hours before farmers begin their trek to the market sites, like 10 hours after they ditched all their produce. What sort of a bloody moron is in charge of this crap. Goddam unbloody believable. This is beyond a joke. Check the bank balance of the fucking jerk who pulled this string !!

04.01.2022 Now that all the sporting Hoo Har is over, and everyone has been so good in accepting the Covid restrictions to the point where they are gradually being lifted we can get on with the Farmers Markets in the fashion we should be able to. So Don is at Kingston tomorrow and Flemington on Sunday so let him know if you need some bits. And Bryan will be at VegOut in St Kilda on Saturday morning. ... Enjoy your shopping.

02.01.2022 This is what happens when Collie College goes back to home schooling

02.01.2022 Bryan is attending the Collingwood Children’s Farm market being held in Carlton on Saturday morning. Don will be at Spotswood in West Footscray tomorrow and then Flemington on Sunday. Have a great weekend

01.01.2022 So today we telephoned Service NSW to enquire about getting a permit to enter NSW to take our sheep from our address which is a few hundred meters out of the bo...rder zone, to Corowa sheep yards, which in over the river and in the border zone. What ensued has left a very bitter taste in my mouth, and tomorrow every politician and news outlet is going to hear about it. It went as follows..... "We are sheep producers and need a permit to take sheep to Corowa Sheep Market. NSW: your address is outside the zone, you will need to enter the state via Sydney airport. Us: We are farmers on the border and you want us to take a load of 40 lambs by plane to Corowa? NSW: Yes. Us: You want us to drive 6 hours to Melbourne with 40 sheep? NSW: Yes. Us: You want us to put 40 sheep on a flight from Melbourne to Sydney and then transport them from there to Corowa Sheep Market on the border? NSW: Yes." I shit you not, this is for real. #DanielAndrews you promised the people of Victoria they would still be able to buy meat. You let this shit go, they won't be buying lamb. #GladysBerejiklian fix the border zone/region/bubble what ever the hell you want to call it and do it soon, better yet, re-open the bloody borders for ALL FARMERS regardless. #MLA get all over this NOW before it becomes an animal welfare issue.
