25.01.2022 Did anyone head up to sport on the weekend? Spare a thought for the ill-fated memorial gates (at the entrance to the sports ground) which were accidentally demolished in 1968... Word on the street is that they were taken out by a wayward vehicle. Does anyone remember them?

14.01.2022 The museum will be closing this Friday 2nd October 2020. The season has been great and thanks everyone for visiting and for all our local volunteers who have enabled the museum to be accessible to the public. See you next year.



12.01.2022 H A N D C U F F S - Donated by Bill & Joan Dempster. These handcuffs were used by local WA policemen for prisoners (most commonly detained away from a police station). The policeman would attach a chain to his stirrups and then the cuffs to the chain and the prisoner would walk as the policeman rode his horse. When stationary, the prisoner's cuffs would be attached to a tree.

03.01.2022 H A R V E S T has kicked off this week for most of our farmers and we wonder how many of you can still recall harvesting without the luxury of an air-conditioned cab or GPS steering. This chap is Jim Cain and this snap was taken in the heat of the Summer of 1950 at Adji Daji, Mingenew.

02.01.2022 Museum is open most days of the week during the wildflower season 10-2 by donation. There is a reasonable cost Heritage walk trail brochure available from the Shire and Post office which will give you an interesting insight into our past.
