21.01.2022 Soooooooo...... after 4 yrs Big Swamp Community Centre has installed solar panels.. this is a momentous occasion and another step forward to our beautiful church/community centre being a place to hire out for any occasion and a place to admire for many many more years to come. Thank you so much for all those past and present who have had a hand in getting this to happen. Our little community is amazing!! Our next phase is getting a functioning toilet onsite and upgrade the little lean too into something more functional. 13.01.2022 A quick stop in to appreciate the sunset over dry Big Swamp on route out to the farm this evening. The atmosphere a haze with the smoke of many making the most of the mild autumn conditions to burn off, the essential farm work rolls on. As I stand here I reminded of how grateful I am to live in a country that still has so much wildlife and natural areas. The wild birds are moving home to take up their roosts now, ready for the night. All around there's building sence of rain coming. Stay well there extended online family Our community is thinking of you

10.01.2022 We are delighted to announce that She-Oak Steiner Family playgroup will be running out of our centre as of October 2020. This is a wonderful opportunity for families far and wide to access a beautiful space focused on rhythms and the Steiner education.

10.01.2022 A wonderful morning spent adding some natives to our beautiful centre! We had a working bee this morning pruning, gardening out dead plants and replacing with lots of wonderful natives. In time these plants will grow and continue to provide not only a wonderful backdrop to the church but a home for wildlife. Thank you to everyone Barbie Clutterbuck Peter Clutterbuck @jocelynpobke @perrihendricks @bethcarter Chantelle Sugden ... Also Peter has freshened up our beautiful harrier with some wood oil! Thank you See more

02.01.2022 WOW!!! 1 yr ago..... what an amazing effort this beautiful float was.......

01.01.2022 Community be well prepared, stay safe. The next few days are warming up and although there are a few areas on EP with Total Fire Bans tomorrow no one can afford to be complacent.

01.01.2022 TOTAL FIRE BANS have been declared for 11 January 2021 in the following Fire Ban Districts: Eastern Eyre Peninsula - Severe Lower Eyre Peninsula - Severe Mid No...rth - Severe Mount Lofty Ranges - Severe Yorke Peninsula - Severe Kangaroo Island - Severe Murraylands - Severe Upper South East - Severe Lower South East - Extreme Where Total Fire Bans have been declared, very hazardous fire weather conditions are predicted. The Total Fire Ban will apply for 24 hours from midnight tonight to midnight tomorrow. The CFS recommends that you implement your Bushfire Survival Plan. FIRE DANGER RATING Where fire ban districts have a forecast fire danger rating of Extreme, only well prepared, well constructed and actively defended houses are likely to offer safety during a fire. Where fire ban districts have a forecast fire danger rating of Severe, well prepared and actively defended houses can offer safety during a fire. If you don't have a plan to ensure your survival, leaving early before a fire starts is your safest option. In making your plan, you should be aware that in high fire danger conditions, essential services including mains-fed electricity and water supply may not be available due to the prevailing weather conditions. Landowners are asked to adhere to local harvest codes of practice which are available from your local council. Landowners are also asked to ensure that any burn-off activities conducted today are fully extinguished before midnight tonight. Agencies are advised to activate their Total Fire Ban procedures in preparation for these predicted fire weather conditions. For further information contact the Bushfire Information Hotline on 1800 362 361 or visit https://www.cfs.sa.gov.au
