25.01.2022 Check out our fitness freaks in the adults class, counting down the days untill we are back!

24.01.2022 Do you know why you should never wash your karate belts? Originally a black belt was just a white belt that had never been washed! Meaning how long you had been around and the experience the individual had.

23.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Following up from the recent events over the past few days and awaiting clarification on the new restrictions for training, I can finally inform everyone that as per SA health restrictions community sports are not to be returned until the 1st of December. Our next training date will not be til the 7th as of that return date. Remember though this is an ever changing situation so this may turn in our favour. With questions of grading as of this moment we will not h...ave enough training time of one week to make sure everyone is ready for grading. This is the most unfortunate news we could have had to end such an unfortunate year. But we will update again by the 7th of December so we can finish the year with a games night and make sure everyone has a wonderful Christmas! Sensei Josh and Jared

21.01.2022 As aware, we are back tonight! There are rules that need to be followed, and not following these rules could result in you being asked to leave. It’s important all people follow rules to ensure we are all safe and compliant. Untill further notice, toilets will be strictly out of order,... Water from taps will be out of order, please bring water from home No entry to the dojo before 6pm ( for kids) No entry to the dojo before 7pm ( for adults) Hand sanitizer to be used before entering the dojo. Please use entry doors to enter and exit doors to exit. If you feel unwell, do not come to training, and if an instructor feels you are unwell, you will be asked to leave. These rules might not seem very welcoming, but we all have our part to play, as things get better, rules will be lifted. We are looking forward to seeing you all tonight

19.01.2022 Hi all, Due to the continued covid restrictions we have had to structure this grading different from every other grading. To stay within the hall’s covid capaci...ty restrictions we've slotted the grading into 3 groups. Only student’s grading at the nominated time are permitted in the hall. Students must be on time, no-one arriving late will be permitted to grade this is important to ensure we stay within the time slots. The coloured belts quoted in the groups are what the students are attempting not their current belt rank. Group No.1. Beginners: 9.30-10.30am, YWS and OWS only Group No.2. Advanced kids: 10.30-11.45am, BBS, PBS, GBS, PWS, BWS only Group No.3. Adults: 11.45-1.00pm, Blue, Green and Brown belts. The students must be there at 9.30, 10.30 and 11.45, if they arrive late they miss out, we will not be waiting for anyone due to the time slots. Finish times 10.30, 11.45 and 1.00pm includes belt presentation and photo's. Spectator limit: 2 per student grading, this includes siblings, parents, relatives and friends. This means if you have one child grading 2 spectators can come and watch, if you have 2 kids grading 4 spectators can come and watch. This does not include instructors or graders. If you have any question contact your instructor or me personally. Looking forward to catching up with everyone, been a long time since we had a grading. Good luck everyone.

18.01.2022 We would really like to thank all of our members and supporters for your support over the last few months, from liking our posts, to the fantastic messages checking in on the club. MKA Wynn vale would be what it is, without you all! We can’t wait to get back into training

18.01.2022 First grading for 2021 and wow it was a good one. Sensei Josh and I would like to congratulate everyone that graded today, everyone put out there 110%. All the brand new yellow belts done all amazing with such massive numbers in the group grading with them the more advanced kids smashed all their gradings and got such good feedback. We would also like to congratulate Brayden for finally being able to shed that junior black belt and make his way officially to the big kids class now. Wonderful effort by everyone and a big thank you to Tim and Georgia and all other blacks and brown belts that came along to help out, we couldn’t get through gradings without you guys See you all tomorrow night

14.01.2022 Hi all, As we are all aware, covid is back in SA. At this stage with the transmission spreading around the northern suburbs, we have chosen to cancel training tonight, untill we receive further clarification on rules and protocols. At this present time training will be cancelled for the next two weeks as per SA Health guidelines. ... We will post updates through the week as we get a better understanding of the situation. We understand this is frustrating, but we want to keep everyone safe. Thank you all for your support, please stay paitence with us while we sort out the finer details.

14.01.2022 Hi everyone We hope everyone has had a well deserved break over Christmas and New Years. Just got confirmation from the school that we are all good to start back on Monday the 18th!!... This is going to be a very good and exciting year and we hope no interruptions at all this year. There are still a few changes, we now have a QR code to check in and that will need to be completed before each entry to the dojo. Everything else is per normal. Can’t wait to see everyone back next week! GET KEEN! Sensei Josh and Jared

12.01.2022 *URGENT* Hi all, due to unforeseeable circumstances the dojo will not be able to be trained in tonight. We apologise for the inconvenience this is made upon anyone and we will catching up the training session in the near future. Sensei Josh and Jared

09.01.2022 Are you ready to train?

07.01.2022 Awesome photos of the day on Sunday get keen for the may grading

06.01.2022 Hi all, Unfortunately the December 2020 grading will be cancelled due to recent covid events that are out of our control. I’ve given this much thought as I real...ly wanted to get at least one grading in 2020. Reasons behind the decision: Interrupted preparation time: having classes shut for 4 months during the year and then again 4 weeks out from grading for a further 2 weeks has severely affected our preparation time in getting students ready. Covid requirements: we were looking at grading in blocks or groups of 30 students before the recent outbreak causing the last 2 weeks restrictions, but this would’ve meant we would have to thoroughly clean the hall and facilities between each group, and adding allot of time to the day. Active cases: there are still active cases with the recent outbreak although they are contained, allot of the instructors including myself felt it would be inappropriate and too risky to hold a grading so soon after this outbreak. Grading gear: to organise the grading nominations, certificates and belts in 2 weeks would be a very tight squeeze and the availability of frames and belts is an unknown until we get the grading nominations in, this alone would not be able to be finalised until a day or two before the day. It is unfortunate but our students safety and well being is the most important factor here, in 2021 we may look at more regular smaller grading’s, this option will be discussed in detail at the instructors annual meeting in January 2021 and will be influenced by covid requirements. Thankyou for your support and understanding, the MKA instructors are disappointed with 2020 but are looking forward to getting back to some normality in 2021. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me or your instructors. Shihan MKA Australia
