25.01.2022 THANK YOU I wouldn't normally write a personal post but yesterday was not a normal day. Moonlight may have appeared like a usual (if busier) market but things were a bit chaotic initially behind the scenes. Yesterday morning I got the call that my lovely dad had been taken to hospital. I continued with Moonlight set up (our day starts at 8am). By lunchtime, it was clear I needed to be with him. ... However when you run a night market, the show must go on. Taking the day off isn't an option! My incredible, amazing and supportive friends stepped up and took over the running of the market. I am forever indebted to them, allowing me to spend the last moments with my dad. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to my dear friend Chris Mules, who when I said I have to go be with my dad, replied without hesitation 'go, I'll sort everything here' and took on the role of market manager. So much gratitude for Michael Fadersen, Deb Turner, Cheryle Ludby, Bethany Turner, Meaghan Bake, Julie Strawhorn and Jen Hallinan for helping with set up and running the bar and bbq and the amazing council staff Rob and Michele.Thank you also to Chris' friends, Tim Jenkin, Chris Musk and Stemmer, who came to help out without any hesitation, you showed such kindness. Everyone went above and beyond and I'll forever remember your support. I'm sorry if I've missed anyone! I'd also like to thank the paramedics who worked tirelessly and with kindness & dignity and the compassionate staff at Bendigo Health, especially Jason in ICU. I was devastated to miss Moonlight. It's been six weeks of flat out work to get it up and running and to not be there was upsetting but absolutely the right decision. By all accounts it was a busy one! Thank you for supporting my small business and all the stallholders, many of whom sold out. You're the best Bendigo Linda
