13.01.2022 **BATTLE OF THE SCHOOLS** On Sunday our MPB team took on North Bundaberg in the Battle of the Schools competition. Unfortunately they were defeated 30-14. They will compete again this Thursday in their next round of the competition. Good luck!!!

Again extra ticket books available from the office. *Spare Change Challenge* Less then 3 weeks to go for our Spare Change Challenge. At the halfway point 5/6k were leading the way with 3/4M not far behind. The winning class gets a pizza party!!

11.01.2022 **WIDE BAY REP** Congratulations to Kate Morcom who made the Wide Bay Under 12 Aussie Rules team. Kate played against teams from the Wide Bay region last week and was successful being awarded a Wide Bay position. She will be travelling to Cairns in a few weeks to compete in the State championship. Great effort Kate, well done.

10.01.2022 NUDE FOOD DAY TOMORROW. CAN ANY CLASS DEFEAT THE NUDE FOOD CHAMPIONS YR 3-4 B???? Tomorrow, Tuesday Nov 24 is the last Nude Food Day for the year. All students who bring along lunch without landfill rubbish will go into the draw to win great rubbish-free prizes. And everyone in the winning class wins a FREE ICY CUP. Miss Brown’s Yr 3/4 class has been the winning class all year.. can any other class beat them this time??? Our goal here at school is to reduce the impact we have on our unique environment of Moore Park Beach.. and one big way we can do that is to bring less rubbish to school. So join in the fun and help us make a difference!

04.01.2022 **Battle of the Schools** Our team competed yesterday afternoon in an elimination round. The score was 16 all with one question to go. Unfortunately they lost on the last question. Well done Jack, Marlon and Jacinta. You did Moore Park Beach SS proud. Well done also to BCC who defeated us. They also played very well.

04.01.2022 READING SUPERSTARS! This year, we had a total of 25 students complete the Premier’s Reading Challenge. These students were presented with their Certificates of Achievement at this week’s parade. Our school is one of only 8 schools in Qld that has participated in the Premier’s Reading Challenge since its inception. Thank you Challenge sponsor Booktopia who awarded our school with a $300 voucher for the purchase of books, in recognition of our long-standing participation in the Challenge.

01.01.2022 **ECO-CHALLENGE** As a Reef Guardian school, we are committed to educating our students and community about the simple ways we all can make a difference to the health of our environment, and the health of our Reef. This week, our Eco Leaders, Caitlyn and Emily introduced their last project of the year the Class Eco-Challenge. Classes are being challenged to put in place some simple practices that make a difference to the impact we have on our environment. New challenges will be introduced every couple of days, and the girls will be on the lookout for strikes 3 strikes and the class is out! Which class will win??

01.01.2022 **SURF SAFETY** On Tuesday Katy and Georgia from our local surf clubs joined us to share some handy tips for staying safe at the beach! Lifesavers will be on duty from this Saturday at the surf club in Moore Park Beach. ... Remember to swim between the yellow and red flags!
