25.01.2022 Our kindy friends have been working really hard at pattern work in the kindergarten room and this is one of the many examples of the learning our kindy friends do. Recognising and continuing a pattern is great for play based mathematic activities and we are planning to do more great activities like this over the next couple weeks. #LearningIsFun #QCCS

23.01.2022 Yesterday in the Senior Kindy room Miss Tea teaches her children to play tunnel ball. The children did really well talking to each other as they learn the game and work together to pass the ball through the legs to the back of the line. It looked like so much fun our schoolies jumped into the game when they arrived at the centre aswell. #IndoorFun #QCCS

22.01.2022 Today the Junior Kindy watched Miss River do a science experiment as a follow up from their Volcano (bicarbonate soda and vinegar) explosion they love to watch. Miss River poured in an empty bottle some vinegar and in a balloon a table spoon of bicarbonate soda, she then put the balloon around the top of the bottle. Once the two ingredients had come together it made a reaction causing the balloon to expand. It was a WOW moment for the children, we had to do the experime...nt twice as they loved it so much. #STEM #science #earlychildhood #childcare #QCCS

22.01.2022 What a great way to spend the weekend eve - with a pupil free day! Our schoolies were very busy with Miss Ellen today. We made our own little planted pots to nurture and grow. We also gave our garden beds some attention to get them ready for planting next week.

16.01.2022 Today Junior Kindy have been practicing their tumbling as part of our gross motor development activity. Once Miss River had demonstrated to the children on how to tumble. The JK children were so excited to have a go themselves, some of us struggled to do a straight tumble but without the help from Miss River we rolled sideways. Working on gross motor helps a child gain strength and confidence in his/her body. It also helps them get exercise and physical activity, which is im...portant for a healthy lifestyle. 15.01.2022 This afternoon Kindergarten also had an exciting visit from Miss Kym who ran a super fun and interactive Lunchbox session. teaching us about healthy choices for our lunch boxes. 12.01.2022 Today in the Junior Kindy room the children had enjoyed spray painting using colours a couple of children had chosen (blue and red). Through this activity the children were developing their fine motor skills with learning how to use the trigger on the spray gun as a follow up activity from learning to cut with scissors. 11.01.2022 Miss Ange really did have a busy weekend with another awesome surprise for the staff and the children today. Miss Ange and our Field Advisor, Amy sourced some chickens that had been rescued from "caged egg living environments" to welcome into our Centre family. We now have 3 semi feathered friends in our chicken coop. Okay, so they are not the cutest things right now.... But just wait, with all the love, attention and the Centre's food scraps these ladies are going to enjo...y, they will be belles of the ball in no time! We are also running a chicken naming competition over the next 2 weeks so put your suggestion name into the hat... We will have a little prize for our 3 little winners. 05.01.2022 Today in the Senior Kindy Room Miss Tea set up an awesome PMP course for the children to enjoy. Today we did a variety of jumping, bunny hopping, skipping using skipping ropes and more. We all did so well, although our rope skipping needs a little work so we are looking forward to mastering those skills over the coming weeks

02.01.2022 We are all different but we are all beautiful Over the past few weeks in our Kindergarten Room Miss Sarah and Miss Trudy have been working with all the children about our identity, who we are and that everybody is different. During this project our children drew their own self-portraits and then extending from this activity each child was able to look in a mirror to paint their own faces on the paper. We used special skin tone paint and we look at the colour of our hair and eyes and what made us special and unique. We are so proud of every bodies efforts in their self-portraits!
