21.01.2022 Oh Bulwer Burger, how I’ve missed you, now get in my mouth. The Bay Islands are starting to open up again. When travelling to our beautiful islands, remember to take an empty esky and fill up with fresh local seafood. When on Straddie call into Rufus King. If your on Moreton remember Castaways at Bulwer and The Gutter Bar in Kooringal. Sorry the oysters are out of season until August

16.01.2022 They come by land, they come by sea. Boaties at high tide to the cellar door, 4WD action at low tide. Come and grab some freshly shucked oysters and have a great New Year. #oysters #thisisliving #thisisbrisbane #moretonbay

14.01.2022 6 week old oysters, wild caught Moreton Bay Rock Oysters. Brisbane will be eating these in 3 years time. Our oysters are caught and grown in Moreton Bay. Support your local oyster farmers as they help to keep the bay clean. They consume nitrogen and store Carbon, plus clean the water. So do yourself a favour and eat local Moreton Bay Oysters as you would be supporting Queensland farmers and by doing so keeping the local water ways pristine. #thisisqueenland #ninesquared #oysters #thisisbrisbane #usc #quu #localfoods #moretonbay

12.01.2022 Tunny - you're a bloody legend mate. David Tunstead"Everything is replaceable, but not lives. I'm real happy I went and saved her." Amongst all the devastation I've heard so many accounts of oyster farmers coming to the rescue. Please keep track of these stories, and make sure you send me through details. Obviously not front of mind at the moment, and I'm not sure how exactly, but we may be able to use this good-will to kick-start the industry's recovery effort.

05.01.2022 Today we did an ‘ocean watch’ clean up between our farm and Kooringal in the mangroves. Big percentage of the rubbish was plastic bottles and styrofoam. Most of this would have come from Brisbane when the westerly winds blow. We fought mosquitoes and Sandflies, but felt rewarded that we did something good. Thanks to the Moreton Bay Rock team for donating their time #oceanwatch #healthywaterways #oysterfarmingqld

04.01.2022 As you are all aware because of the Covid 19, Fraser Island / K’gari, Moreton Island / Moorgumpin and North Stradbroke Island / Minjerribah parks are closed. As of yesterday Moreton Island now has a 100m exclusion zone for pleasure crafts, this does not include permanent resident, commercial/emergency services, marine rescue and essential services for the island. Because of this we are not able to sell oysters to anyone just dropping in. If you are a permanent resident and would like oysters for Easter, please give us a call to order and we will ensure measures will be taken to restrict contact when purchasing. These are hard times for everyone and we are all in it together, if everyone does the right thing now, will can get through this. Thanks

03.01.2022 To our wonderful customers, It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you that the Queensland State Government have closed the National Parks from tomorrow. ...We regretfully advise that any campers travelling from 26 March 2020 until 30 April 2020 will be unable to travel. Unfortunately this means Micat will not be operating its usual services. We will still operate to collect waste, provide supplies and give residents access to their homes on Tuesdays, until 30 April 2020, and if there is further demand from locals, we will schedule further services. If you are a resident and have a booking between these dates, and still wish to travel, please send us an email to confirm Over the next few days, we will be working with QYAC and Queensland Parks & Wildlife Services to get campers off Moreton Island. If you are on the island, and your return date is after Sunday, we’re sending you a text to help you get home. Please remember that we are a small family business with one big boat, we are not big business. For us to continue to service Moreton Island like we have for the past 50 years, we need your help. Easter is our busiest time of the year and the most revenue, so if we have to refund every fare we will not make it through. If you can help us by accepting a full gift certificate instead of a refund we would greatly appreciate it and this will enable us to get to the other side, and for you to look forward to a pre-paid holiday when you can. We will ensure your gift certificate is the full value of your booking (waiving all fees) and alter the expiry dates to allow you 2 years to use them (this just means you need to book in the next 2 years, so your holiday could be up to 3 years from now). Please #dontcancelpostpone. Rest assured that we are still open for business, and taking bookings for travel after 1 May 2020. Please allow us a little bit of time to cancel and issue your credit, and keep these 5 ways in mind on how you can help the Australian tourism industry; 1 Buy your friend’s future birthday presents now 2 Write online reviews of your favourite experiences. 3 Book your Christmas getaway now. 4 Share your favourite travel experiences on social media with @moretonislandadventures 5 Postpone rather than cancel. We are here to help, but unfortunately due to the volume of calls we are receiving, your best communication avenue is via email to [email protected]. We hope to see you on the beach, on the other side of this crisis.

02.01.2022 For all you Moreton Island lovers travelling over here, we are sorry to say that we will not be open to the public until the end of February we are doing renovations to our processing room. We are really sorry for the inconvenience. #moretonisland #moretonislandadventures #sorry
