16.01.2022 If you’re getting married and your heart is breaking for the Australians and the regions affected by the bushfires, a powerful way you can positively impact those areas is with your cold hard cash. Donations are so good, and many are in need of them, but in the medium to long term your wedding can bring big money to an area that is desperate for plain old-fashioned business. If you invite 100 people to a wedding away from home, that’s accomodation, fuel, food, tourist act...ivities, along with booking your actual wedding, that keeps people in jobs, mortgages paid, fridges full, and it keeps wedding venues and other businesses in operation, and generally keeps everyone’s balance sheets in the black because of those forward bookings for weddings over the next 6-24 months. Here’s some regions you could do well to have your destination wedding in: Kangaroo Island East Gippsland area, towns like Bright, Tallangatta, and Bairnsdale NSW South Coast area like Nowra, Berry, Kanagroo Valley, Batemans Bay, Mollymook through to the Victorian eastern coast like Mallacoota and Lakes Entrance Thredbo, Jindabyne, and the Snowy Mountains region, through to the Southern Highlands like Bowral A few other regions have been affected to various degrees, like the Gold Coast Hinterland (Binna Burra) and the Hunter Valley Investing into the local economy means your dollars go further than most donations could ever dream, plus you’re empowering the locals affected to make the best nuanced financial decisions for them and their family. #bushfire #australianfires #australia #bushfires #Repost @marriedbyjosh with @make_repost

03.01.2022 #Repost @tangofilms_au summing up our thoughts... why on earth has it taken so long for the federal government to send defence force aid? Or ask for foreign assistance? This could have been done ages ago Over 5,000,000 hectares burnt. At least 19 people dead. 500+ million wildlife lost.... Our government simply don’t listen. This could have been prevented. Surely a wake up call that’ll stick? Maybe, but It’s not entirely up to them, it’s up to us collectively, we’re all responsible. The beauty about that is, we can make choices, and some fucking good ones. What am I getting at? 2020 is now the greatest opportunity to create CHANGE. Our precious world has simply had enough with us. The Australian bushfires of 19/20 is a sign of code RED, the Earth bursting at the seams. It’s communicating to us, so let’s listen and more importantly, act. If thoughts and prayers are your thing, keep doing it, we need people like you with good intentions. We also need each and every one of us to act. How? Luckily we have some pretty easy options to turn Australia GREEN again. DONATION FROM YOU If you wish you to donate directly to any of our troops, in desperate need of relief, our volunteers, firefighters, wildlife rescuers, please do. There are many to choose from @nswrfs @cfavic @rescrossau @salvosau @foodbankaus @wireswildliferescue BEYOND THE DONATION Whether you’ve donated or not, we thank-you It was your choice. And it was an easy decision whichever way and for whatever reason. Other choices we (including myself) can make in 2020: Changing your diet and contribution to a greener environment; eat less meat (or none at all), drink less alcohol, quit smoking, use a keepcup, say no to single use plastics. Be kind to others. Have good intentions. Be forgiving. Be supportive. Be a better version of you. Might sound laughable to some, but if we as a nation agree to all or some of these suggested changes, 2020 will be remembered as the year our World shifted, in a positive direction. We owe it to the world, ourselves and our future. Little changes we make internally doesn’t only affect ourselves, it vibrates out to others and our environment. Be the c See more
