19.11.2021 What does it mean to have normal hearing? Scientists have been trying to answer this simple yet underestimated question. As two third-year physics students, we decided to dive into the world of hearing along with Dr Jorge Mejia at National Acoustic Laboratories to answer this question in a way that’s never been done before. Many studies have tried to understand people’s real-life hearing abilities using clinical auditory testing. However, results rarely correlate with peoples...’ hearing experiences in real-life situations. We are in the process of conducting a global survey to understand people’s every-day hearing experiences. At the time of writing this, no known publications have attempted to answer this question in this way. We would like to invite you to help us answer this question so together we can redefine today’s definition of normal hearing and raise awareness for hidden hearing loss. If you’d like to help us and take part in this study, please tell us about your hearing experiences by answering these easy-to-fill-out questions below. https://redcap.nal.gov.au/surveys/?s=KNHK8LEF3W

Since then, the team has grown and we've had some amazing guests and we are extremely grateful. What better way to celebrate this auspicious occasion than with another interview, this time from friend of the pod and long-time supporter Rami Mandow from SpaceAustralia.com. Also, head on over to the Macquarie University Instagram account to see Cameron's takeover, running every day this week. The latest episode will be released on Thursday 30 September for your listening pleasure. Details can be found in the post below.
