18.01.2022 Weve recently received a beautiful addition to the Mudgee Birds & Aquarium and this gorgeous Quaker baby is hand reared and is now looking for his/her loving family. Quakers can be on the rather noisy side, but dont let that scare you because there are birds out there that are far worse. (Trust me, I own a Cockatoo) They are escape artists and are fully packed with mischief, they will definitely show your 60kg Rottweiler whos boss. These beautiful birds are extremely int...elligent so dont let anyone insult you with having a small brain because these guys can be far more intelligent than most people. Theyre also fearless and incredibly vociferous. They not only imitate words, they can also copy that beloved ring tone, that beautiful melody to the ears of the vacuum and anything else that has a good rhythm to the household. These little guys have a lifespan of 20 years if well cared for. A Quaker requires a reasonably big cage just so you can ram pack it with plenty of toys to keep the little busy bees busy so you dont have to hear the constant complaint of them being bored. There is nothing they love more than the love and affection of their beloved humans. They are by far the greatest gift, without fail of making your days brighter. Theyre incredibly loyal and love to learn new tricks if that means they can spend more time with you. 04.01.2022 The One and Only Java Sparrows These little guys are hardy little fellas and are classed as one of the easiest birds to own and breed. They dont suffer from any sever health issues so keeping these little guys happy and healthy wont be difficult. But unfortunately for these guys theyve just become vulnerable in the wild, due to farmers and the loss of habitat. The Java Sparrow grows to be about 14-15cm and weighs only 20g, but unfortunately have a short lifespan of... 2-3 years. But dont let that scare you off because these little passive guys are beautiful to watch and see, turning heads far and wide. Theyre non aggressive and thrive in aviaries loving the company of their fellow finchy families. Although both sexes can call, only males are known to have a beautiful song. They also display courtship by performing a dance routine, which is incredible to watch. So Mudgee Birds and Aquarium have luckily stocked not only the common Java Sparrow ($45 a pair) but also their beautiful siblings which come in Snow White ($65 a pair) and a beautiful Caramel ($65 a pair). Pictures below arent of the real sparrows themselves but their exact colours off of google. (They were incredibly hard to get a good photo of so I had to improvise).
