24.01.2022 The Disability Royal Commission has released its interim report about violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation experienced by people with disability. If the report creates difficult feelings for you, you can talk to a trauma-informed counsellor. This support is also available for people who are engaging with or considering taking part in the Disability Royal Commission. 02.01.2022 The Eight Mile Plains Self-Advocacy Group are at it again with bringing awareness to the community about accessibility!! The most recent request (in September) was for the traffic lights to become more accessible for wheelchair users. Today we saw the outcome of this with Rory going to take an after photo of him now being able to touch the pedestrian button! Attached is the submission to the council as well as their return letter approving the request!! These are amazing ...outcomes for Multicap customers and the community of Eight Mile Plains. #greatoutcomes #speakup #self_advocacy #raiseawareness
