21.01.2022 On Friday the 29th of November Murtoa Commonwealth Bank Manager Jacinta Young and Customer Service Representative Skye Lawson presented Murtoa CFA captain Mick Newell with a $500 cheque through there community grants donation program. This money is greatly appreciated by the brigade and will be used to replace our failing water fridge.

18.01.2022 Today Riley Keel was presented a Yarriambiack CFA young achiever award. Riley joined Murtoa brigade on 12/1/2012 as a junior. 4 weeks after his 16th birthday he stepped up to the senior brigade. Now only 12 months later Riley has completed all his training and is fighting fires like a pro. In a very short period of time you have earned the respect of your fellow fire fighters. 18.01.2022 Today the brigade held its belated Christmas/ awards day at Lake Marma. Pictured below is district 17 Operations Manager Craig Brittain, Emily Farrugia 15 year medal, Glenn Crittenden 5 year certificate, Nathan Tepper 10 year medal, Luke Adler 10 year medal with Captain Mick Newell. Absent recipients are Tom Coleman 5 year certificate, Daniel Launer 10 year medal and Kelvin Murphy 15 year medal.

06.01.2022 Murtoa fire brigade commenced fuel reduction burns tonight to the north of town. Smoke may be visible for the next week or so whilst its completed. Be assured burning will only happen when conditions are suitable to do so. Here’s a few pictures from tonight.
