22.01.2022 We are beyond excited to announce that we finally have Myfit’s new location in Emerald Lakes, Carrara !!!!! Fit out starts today and we can not wait to bring you the most amazing fitness studio!! We can’t thank you enough for support over these last 6months!! It’s been a long road but also a great one. We have met so many awesome new people (and dogs) out in the park so it will be sad not to be out there everyday, however we will still head out there for Bootcamps. We couldn’t have done this without the help of our amazing lawyer @Lisa Clements , David Loft from Steward funding and our awesome accountant Sharon Townsend Danny Rahe and I will keep you updated about the fit out progress and we hope to be open as soon as possible .

15.01.2022 WANT TO MAXIMISE YOUR TRAINING? GET THE BASICS RIGHT FIRST! We all want to get the every best out of our training. Unfortunately, some of us struggle to get the basics right first. Unless we get this sorted, we are more or less pushing SH#T uphill. Get these things right and you are on your way to lots of positive adaptations from your training!! SLEEP.... We all bang on about getting enough sleep, but it really is a crucial part to our overall health. Not only does it help your body rest and recover, it reduces stress, improves mental health, increases libido amongst other things. Now go to bed early!! EAT WELL. Now I don’t really need to go into this in too much detail. Basically, don’t eat crap. You wouldn’t put cheap fuel in a Ferrari!! Simple, you are what you eat. STAY HYDRATED So many people don’t drink enough water. This is one thing that frustrates me the most There is absolutely no excuse, it really isn’t that hard!!! It will help with digestion, skin, muscles and joints..now go have a glass of water! TECHNIQUE OVER EGO You see it all the time. People forsaking technique to lift as heavy as FU&K. Great for the ego maybe, however, not so great for the potential injuries that are likely to occur. Plus with nailing technique, strength will be an awesome by-product!! LISTEN TO YOUR BODY if you are getting a few niggles, then don’t ignore them & try and train through it. Absolutely train around them but don’t avoid it. it has the potential to turn into a worse injury than you started with. See a GOOD physio & be consistent with your self care. BE CONSISTENT Consistency is key to any program, no matter what your goal. Food, training, sleep, recovery. Nothing changes if nothing changes. Stick to a plan, don’t just give it a week and expect miracles. E.g. One burger won’t make you fat, just as one salad won’t make you skinny!!! 13.01.2022 THE IMPORTANCE OF EXERCISE FOR A STRONG AND HEALTHY MIND! We all know that exercise has numerous health benefits including being a fundamental part of your mental wellbeing. Having a strong and healthy body plays an imperative part to having a strong and healthy mind. Once we start exercising, whether it be weight training, cardio or even just walking, amazing things can start to happen. When we exercise, we release a number of hormones that have a positive impact. These horm...ones are Endorphins (the Analgesic Hormone) which help to reduce the effects of pain, Serotonin (the Happy Hormone) which regulates your mood and can prevent depression, and Dopamine (the pleasure hormone) which motivates you to work (or train) harder. We highly recommend that you have a balance of Anaerobic (Resistance/weight training) complemented with some Aerobic (cardio/HIIT) training to get the best results. Once we embark on a training program along with a diet rich in whole foods, fruits and vegetables, not only will you start seeing changes in your body composition, but your self-esteem will also improve, in turn improving your mood and your mindset. It can give you a sense of purpose as well as getting you into a healthy routine. Sleep and lack of it can play an incredibly important role in your state of mind. Once you are in a routine with your training, your sleep quality and patterns can improve and in turn you will see a definite improvement in your emotional wellbeing. Energy levels will also rise as well as your mental alertness, so you can become more productive at work and at home with your family. It can also help to improve your libido, reduce anxiety and induce a sharper memory. Who doesn’t want that?? Once you start to see changes not only in your physical appearance but also in your mind, you will also start to inspire others, whether it be family, co-workers or friends. 05.01.2022 HEALTHY DINNER OPTION PRAWN & GREEN VEG THAI CURRY INGREDIENTS... 1 tbsp Green Curry Paste 1 tbsp Fish Sauce 1/2 tsp Stevia 1 tbsp Coconut Oil 2 Cups Green Veg of choice - chopped (eg; Broccoli, Snow Peas, Beans) 1 can Coconut Milk 500g large Green Australian Banana Prawns - peeled and deveined 2 Spring Onions - thinly sliced 500g Steamed Rice or Rice Noodles - to serve 1/2 Lime - juiced Lime cheeks and coriander - to serve METHOD In a bowl, combine curry paste, fish sauce, stevia. Add prawns and stir to coat. Set aside for 30 mins. Heat a non-stick fry an over med heat. Cook the prawns in 2 batches for 2-3 mins. Set aside on a plate. Add green veggies and spring onions to frying pan, cook for approx 2 mins. Return prawns to pan, add coconut milk and lime juice. Cook for approx 2-3 mins or until prawns are cooked through. Serve with rice or rice noodles, coriander leaves and lime wedges.
