23.01.2022 After 6 weeks absence from the office, thanks Micheal for the nice lunch, love you son.

23.01.2022 This weeks #PBTteamdreams includes a helluva story from the wonderful Nathan McClean about his determination to get one last ski in despite a global pandemic It’s that kind of focus and willpower in the face of obstacles that makes Nathan such a wonderful part of the PBT family (and that he always does it with that smile!)

22.01.2022 To all our PlanetBlue customers and family, We'd just like to advise you that due to the current COVID-19 situation and the many disruptions it's causing, we're experiencing an extremely high volume of calls and emails. We understand your concerns and want to do our best to aid you during this time, but we need to ensure we're prioritizing the most immediate cases. For this reason, we will first be responding to travellers departing in March, in order of date of departure. If... your travel is outside of this time frame, we request your patience. We will assist you as soon as we have the capacity, but it should also be known that most airlines aren't currently managing cases more than 72 hours out, as the situation is continuing to change so rapidly. Right now, we're keeping as up to date with airlines policies and procedures as possible, and we're trying our best to get credit vouchers for all clients and travel. We feel this is the best option, as during these uncertain times, it's important to remember that the world is still a beautiful place to travel, and it will be there waiting for us once this madness has settled, Once again, we are so grateful for your patience with us during these unprecedented circumstances. We'll be in touch with you as soon as possible. If your matter is urgent or your departure within the next 72 hours, please email us directly at [email protected] or call us on 1300 567 772.

22.01.2022 Even though commercial trips are off the cards for the moment, the team here at PlanetBlue have been still been working hard behind the scenes. We were lucky enough to help organise the travel of 5 amazing Aussie volunteers over to Italy to aid at the Emergency Field Hospital set up by @samaritanspurse ! Stay tuned for more stories from these absolute health heroes coming soon.

22.01.2022 We're so excited that Queensland's opening their borders to us as of December 1st! We're now taking bookings for anyone that wants to go visit our sunny neighbours up North! If you're keen for a cheeky school holiday getaway or to reunite with QLD friends & fam, the PBT team are ready to help. Be sure to get in quick before the rest of Australia beats you to it!

18.01.2022 Hi fam! We've ducked into the office today to touch base, send you all a quick update and also to finally throw out the pre-iso milk in the work fridge Been working on filming some amazing stories to share with you all as well! Stay tuned. Stay healthy

18.01.2022 Western Australia is opening as of Tuesday 8th December! Just in time for Christmas We urge you to get in QUICK if you wanna book a trip, because from what we've seen with QLD and the rest of Australia, things are going to get snatched up quick! ... Sidenote: our own PBT team member Rachel can confirm quokkas are just as cute and just as friendly in person!

15.01.2022 We're super excited to announce the wonderful Joshua Fattal is taking off on a new adventure! He's still remaining an important part of the PlanetBlue team, but with travel having slowed down because of COVID, he's taking this opportunity to also further pursue his passion for ministry. Stay tuned for the full details coming in next week's newsletter. (And swipe to see the crocodile tears when we told him he couldn't take the office coffee machine with him! )

15.01.2022 Just a quick update to address some recent questions we've had about coronavirus. We understand the seriousness of the coronavirus outbreak and are continuously monitoring the situation to ensure your comfort and safety. Currently, the C.D.C (Centre for Disease Control and Prevention) has labelled Japan, Italy and Iran with a Level 2 warning. This means that older and immunocompromised travellers should avoid these countries, and all travellers should exercise a high level ...of personal hygiene through masks and diligent hand-washing. China and South Korea are at a Level 3: avoid all non-essential travel. Transit stops/layovers in most airports will not be affected, though travellers are encouraged to expect some potential delays due to health checks. Many airlines aren't refunding flight tickets that are cancelled due to personal concern/fear, and most travel insurance policies don't cover losses due to a global health pandemic. However, we at Planet Blue Travel will advocate for babies, the elderly or any at-risk travellers (those with chronic medical conditions or weakened immune systems) as best we can. Our goal is your safety and comfort during this time. We are keeping ourselves updated through the official government channels and relevant authorities. You can find official safety advice yourself here: www.smartraveller.gov.au

14.01.2022 We're back!! 13.01.2022 This week we’re hearing from a team member you might not know yet! Lila, our wonderful Accounts Administrator, started with us mere weeks before we all started working from home, so even we’ve gotten to know her more over team meetings on Zoom then we have in person! But she’s full of heart and a passion for travel, so she fits right in to the PBT team! Swipe through to see her fave spots!

13.01.2022 Introducing #PBTteamdreams! While we’re waiting for travel to take off again (see what we did there) we thought we’d get to know our consultants and team members a bit better! First off the bat is Josh Fattal! Swipe through to see where he’s keen for, where’s he’s loved & what’s been keeping him happy through covid Stay tuned next week to get inside the minds & travel mems of the rest of our wonderful team!...

09.01.2022 Marlene showing off the new skills she’s been picking up in quarantine! . We’ve yet to work out if she was trying to draw Michael or Ridge Forrester from The Bold and the Beautiful ... . Swipe to see the comparison!! . Stay tuned for more things we’re loving during quarantine & ways to keep exploring the world from your own home!

09.01.2022 When the clouds begin to part after a hectic year and you're ready to bask in those sweet sweet trans-Tasman rays! Get hyped team! We've got big plans in the works to help you hit the slopes this winter season! Newsletter dropping next week with all the deets!

07.01.2022 We're currently experiencing an extremely high volume of calls and emails concerning future travel bookings amidst the latest shutdowns. We've had to make sure we've been prioritising the most immediate cases, so our focus this past week has been on getting those home that have been stuck overseas. Going ahead, we will first prioritise travellers who were meant to be departing in March, in order of date of departure. For any travel later than this, we appreciate your patience... and will assist you as soon as we have the capacity. . Right now, we're keeping as up to date with airlines policies and procedures as possible, and we're doing all we can to get credit vouchers for all clients and travel. This is the most readily available option (with most airlines not offering refunds). It's also a great option because, during these uncertain times, it's important to remember that the world is still a beautiful place and it will be there waiting for us once this madness has settled, Travel has brought so much joy to so many of us, and enriched our lives in countless ways, so consider these vouchers your rainy day fund, money set aside safe for a celebratory trip at the end of all this. This option also allows the travel industry (and small businesses like ourselves) to remain afloat and solvent during a time that's hitting everyone quite hard. We have so much appreciation for our loyal customers, and are doing what we can to ensure we're still around to serve you for another 25 years!

06.01.2022 Even in a pandemic Social distancing rules apply.. but only until the captain turns the seatbelt light off then it’s fair game! Is it absurd to say we’re starting to get nostalgic over fighting over the armrest and having to squeeze past your seat mate to go to the bathroom? Never thought we’d miss that!

06.01.2022 You might not recognise this weeks #PBTteamdreams star. Rachel started out as a guide for @bluebananasbiketours but made the switch over to PlanetBlue as their Marketing & Comunnications manager riiiiight as COVID hit. She’s loving being a part of the PBT team (and missing the office jokes & coffee machine!). She’s also the girl behind all these captions (which is to say ‘hi, it’s me!’ )

04.01.2022 When your team meeting suddenly feels like the Brady Bunch! . The PlanetBlue team have been working from home this past week to do our bit to #slowthespread and #flattenthecurve. It's had it's challenges (definitely missing the office snacks ) but it's got it's perks as well (mostly not having to listen to Michael's jokes and our newest, youngest team member getting to join our conference calls ). . All in all, the dedication of this team has been outstanding. They've adapted to the ever-changing circumstances and have been working about the clock just as committed to ensuring the safety of our travellers.

04.01.2022 While Marlene takes up art, my preferred isolation activity has been trying to teach cute little Emmi here how to become the newest PlanetBlue consultant. I mean, she’s not quite got the hang of spreadsheets yet aaaaand all your future travel docs might be a little slobbery BUT LOOK HOW CUTE SHE IS!

03.01.2022 At Planet Blue Travel, we take the time to understand what you need and want, and then carefully curate every little detail (including things you would have never thought of), to get you to the right place, at the right time, in the right frame of mind!

02.01.2022 We’ve no new updates on COVID-19 for you, and our travel stories are sort of limited right now... so we figured we’d give you a sneak peak (and hopefully some laughs) at what life is like for the PlanetBlue family since we’ve started social distancing! Enjoy

02.01.2022 #PBTTeamDreams round 2! The next consultant we’re getting to know is the marvellous Marlene Abikhalil! Swipe through to see Marlene’s fave memories, dream destinations & all the amazing baking & painting she’s been doing in quarantine! As always, stay tuned to delve further into our PBT team (including some members you’ve probably not met yet!) ...
