24.01.2022 Hi all, The Mypolonga Cricket Club congratulates our trophy winners for the 2019/2020 season. Special mention to Darcy Elliott on being awarded the Jo Lewis Memorial Club Person of the Year award for his efforts in coaching the u13s. Thanks also to Cooper Walton, Derek Hagger & Jodie Hagger for helping out with the u13s. Congratulations to Aaron James Zrim for winning The Eric Burrett Memorial Cricketer of the Year, to Brady Wrigley for winning best Junior Cricketer and Decl...an Fritchley for Most Improved Club Cricketer. Our club intends to have a preseason dinner in October (all being well) where trophies will be presented. 19.01.2022 Murraylands Football and Netball sporting results, Press Release, MURRAY-TOWNS CRICKET ... NEWS UPDATE: The new Season of Murray Towns Cricket is Scheduled for the first ball to be bowled October 10th, the weekend after the October Long Weekend. Last night the Association held an AGM at the Murray Bridge Community Club, Sturt Reserve. Due to Covid the meeting has been later than normal. The AGM was well represented with all Clubs excluding the Swans Indigenous Cricket Club who sadly have withdrawn their B Grade for the 20/21 Season due to Covid19. The Committee seen a change at the top with Hugh Fidge taking over the MTCA President and Peter Ledham Vice President. Rosalie Fidge is the new Secretary. Out going President Wayne Gilgen, said a decision to abandoned the 19/20 MTCA Season Grand Finals in March, due to Covid, made it one of the most challenging jobs in the Game. He thanked all who had help him during his duration and said that local Murray Towns Cricket is in a very healthy position. This year the A grade will see 7 Clubs nominated for the 20/21 Season. Mypolonga, Mannum, Jervois, Imperials, Tailem Bend, Monarto and Wanderers. Other Clubs to nominate lower grades were, Claypans, Ramblers, Meningie, Perponda and Karoonda. A few amendments were tabled including: U/15’s to u/16’s - Motion Defeated. Clubs able to play a last minute Unregistered Player, with Rego entered into My Cricket, no later than Sunday Night, if rule breached, loss of premiership points. Carried A round of 20/20 cricket with 5 points a win added to Premiership Table with no final. Carried. One Day cricket to 45 overs- Defeated 50 overs Carried. A grade Start time 12.30pm - Carried A grade 2 Umpires - Carried A Grade - Team having bye to assist umpiring duties. Voted not compulsory, Committee would rather see personnel wanting to help out not made too. These players would be paid as normal if officiate. Leg side Wides - All deliveries down Leg Side to be adjudicated a wide - Defeated One Day Rules: Centre 30 metre inner circle, 2 players outside first 10 overs, Maximum 5 on leg side. Only 5 outside circle in final overs. Carried Murray Towns Cricket in a first, will see the 20/21 Season Live-streamed through Murraylands Football and Netball sporting results, an A grade match each week. Together with MTCA, we are looking forward to show casing Local Cricket in the Murraylands. 14.01.2022 Congratulations to Riley Hagger and Jayden Ladson on their first senior games for MCC last Saturday. They played in the B grade against Tailem and both bowled impressively with a 6 over spell each. To make it an even more special debut for Riley, he played his first game with his dad Derek. Riley might of even taken the bowling honours over his dad Well done Riley and Jayden

06.01.2022 Message from SACA RE: Covid Dear Club and Association Presidents, We hope you are safe and well.... Further to our update on Friday 20 November, the Premier of SA Steven Marshall announced some easing of restrictions over the weekend here. The Premier’s confirmed that community sport training and matches remain cancelled. It is anticipated that community sport will resume on Tuesday 1 December 2020. This communication was consistent with previous announcements over the past week and includes premier and community club cricket as well as SACA’s primary inter-school cricket competition. The restrictions do not include elite, professional sport or intra-school sport. As from last Friday, individuals and members of the same household are able to exercise together outside. However, a reminder that this does not include club training or match fixtures. Players can only practice by themselves or with members of their own household. SACA staff will continue to work from home this week and are available via their usual communication channels. SACA will await further advice and the formal direction from the Police Commissioner before confirming return to play. Thanks Shane Bernhardt General Manager Community Cricket

02.01.2022 Next Thursday night 15th October 8pm, we will be doing a short 19/20 senior trophy presentation for both mypo and mtca trophy winners. There will be tea available. We want to acknowledge the season and achievements that we had as it was a successful one for club and many of its players. Its a good chance to get the new season started on a positive note.
