21.01.2022 This morning our incoming College Captains, Lachlan, Maddi, Phoebe and Leah planted the tree presented to them by the outgoing College Captains at graduation. This tradition was started in 2010, these trees are planted in a garden at the front of the school, representing the growth of our college, and the ongoing leadership and commitment of our school captains.
21.01.2022 -CLASSROOM CAPERS- Have you noticed some year 12s behaving strangely these past few days? No, it’s not exam stress, it’s our Year 12 Auction and subsequent employment by the students and staff who won their bid! The Auction last week was an exhilarating event with Auctioneer Mrs Zwar kicking off proceedings and managing a high number of bidders, even raising the final bid to $110 for one particularly organised syndicate of year 8s. This week Year 12s have been carrying out the tasks of their winning bidder (including baking cakes, teacher help and handball collection duties) mostly in fabulous outfits chosen by the winning bidder. It’s great to see our junior and senior secondary students coming together for a fun event that massively lightens the load on year 12 formal costs.
20.01.2022 -MUSIC NIGHT- A huge congratulations to all of our students for putting on the fantastic Music Event last week Let’s Get Loud. A huge thank you to all of the teachers that gave up their time to help make this event a roaring success. Well done to all involved!

14.01.2022 -CLASSROOM CAPERS- Recently the Year 8 and 9 Business classes conducted a Market Day, to utilise their skills and knowledge gained throughout the year to organise a small business venture. Students brainstormed their ideas and planned their venture. They learnt how to cost out their products, and how to market their product, to hopefully make a profit. Working together and having to trouble shoot were all part of the process in organising and running the business venture. The students were all successful in making a profit, some more than others. Overall, they raised $227.85 which will be donated to the RUOK charity.

10.01.2022 Learning Goal: Determine a function relating the number of rubber bands to the distance that Barbie falls. Year 8C and 8E Mathematics students used their algebra skills to create a bungee line for Barbie that will give her the most thrilling, yet safe, bungee jump. Barbie loves the thrill of death defying activities and believes the adrenaline rush makes her hair more lustrous. Students plotted the data they collected on a coordinate plane and then found a ‘line of best fit.’ Then by applying their knowledge of the straight line equation (y = m x + c) students were then able to determine the number of rubber bands required to give Barbie the most thrilling bungee jump from the U-Block balcony (4.45m). 07.01.2022 On Friday 28th August Year 10 GEG students attended Australia Zoo, looking at the conservation of endangered animals across the planet. Their mission was to raise awareness for animals identified by the zoo as needing the most care for the future. Our students selected the Sumatran Elephant, the Southern White Rhino, the Red Panda and the Koala as their focus. As part of raising awareness students developed posters for the school and held a pop-up stall to sell their handmade items. This initiative would raise money for the Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors and the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital and the hard work paid off as we donated $165 to the Wildlife Warriors and $35 to the Animal Hospital. Congratulations on your dedication to conserving the future of our planet Year 10.
