21.01.2022 Can anyone assist with being an Age Manager tomorrow for the U10 and U12 groups? We have a few people up upskilling with training so we are short helpers. Can you please comment below or message if you can. As a volunteer organisation run by mums and dads just like you guys, the more help, the more fun we can have!

20.01.2022 A submerged container from the APL England has been spotted off the Glasshouse Rocks, between Montague Island and the mainland, near Narooma. Boaters take great care in the area because the container is floating just under the waters surface and very hard to see.

20.01.2022 The breeze is a little cool this morning, but the water is warm. See you at nippers soon!

20.01.2022 AN IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL MEMBERS Until the end of the patrol season inline with guidelines from FSC Branch , Narooma SLSC will only be required to have surveillance patrols with 1or 2 persons, patrol flags do not need to be raised. If you have patrols coming up please contact your patrol captain or our club captain so that we can still have an eye on the beach as this is our core business! I realise that other clubs in our branch have made the decision to completely shut dow...n as is their right to do so in this Covid 19 epidemic situation that we are faced with. However at this stage if we can still keep eyes on the beach for another month that would be great! Rest assured that our Call out team is still active and remains on standby to react swiftly in case of an emergency,we also have a branch jet ski based in Narooma at the moment for emergency calls. The executive committee will be keeping a close eye on the way the pandemic affects our community and will make changes to the existing policy when required! If any members have questions on any issues you can contact me anytime Yours in Surfing Jon Carruthers PRESIDENT SLSC See more

16.01.2022 Board training is on tomorrow Friday @4-5pm for our older kids U8 and up with our bar open upstairs afterwards for our mums & dads. It’s an opportunity to get some extra time on the water leading up to our first carnival in a few weeks. Bring your wetsuit as the water is still a little cool. Any questions, send through a message.

16.01.2022 Board training tomorrow will be on at NEW TIME @ 4.30pm. We are hoping it won’t be as much of a push to get there by then. Finish the week with Friday Frothies afterwards upstairs as the bar will be open.

10.01.2022 Hi all, some of you may not be aware that the club has been broken into again last week! So our communication room was broken into and all but one of our 2 way radios and 2 Android notepads were stolen, these items are used in our beach patrol and emergency call out operations to protect the public! The radios are locked to our emergency channels and are of no use to the general public,to say the least I am very disappointed at the individuals who broke in! Our members donate ...many hundreds of hours on the beach and training other new members and after the fires, floods and now the Covid 19 outbreak we could have done without the expense of replacing these essential items. The Police have been advised and we will source new equipment. Yours in Surfing Jon Carruthers President Narooma SLSC See more

09.01.2022 It was a great day at Broulee Surfers Surf Life Saving Club carnival today. It was great to see such excellent sportsmanship displayed by Narooma Club & to hear such positive feedback from other clubs about our skills but also how we competed fairly. Did you take any happy snaps watching your kids compete? Send them through please! #surflifesavingnsw #naroomasurfclub

09.01.2022 Hi all, well yesterday marked the end of the lifesaving season for 2019-20! Not much of a season for us as its been effected by so much- bushfires, pandemic etc. However Id just like to say thanks to all the members that participate in our clubs activities, this is what makes our club great! And just because this season had a lot of interruptions to our regular program doesnt mean that we dont need you back next year, well need you more than ever because when the isolation a...nd travel restrictions start to ease we can once again return to enjoying ourselves on the beach!Visitors will return and will require our services to keep them safe on the beach again,so the club will look forward to seeing you all again and if you know someone you think that would be an asset to the club bring them along as well Dont forget Carla is doing an online presentation for Nippers Saturday 9/5/20 and hopefully that will be entertaining to say the least! Thanks again, see you on the beach Yours in Surfing Jon Carruthers PRESIDENT NAROOMA SLSC See more

07.01.2022 Thank you to all that came to our Christmas Nippers session this afternoon. Big thanks to our favourite person in red that also came with the Narooma Fire Brigade! We don’t have Nippers over the Christmas holidays, but our patrolling members will be helping to protect swimmers on our beach over the summer season, make sure you come and say hi. Surf Life Saving NSW #mysurflife

07.01.2022 We have had SO many new registrations over the past week or so. If you are U8 or older and you haven’t completed a pool swim proficiency so we can assess your ability, you need to do so. We have our first carnival in a few weeks and sadly you won’t be able to participate. There’s nothing to be afraid of at the pool swim, it’s so we know what you can do and whether we need extra water safety on the beach each Sunday. If you haven’t completed the pool swim, can you meet Glenn at the pool on Thursday at 5.30pm so he can sign you off. It’s so great to have so many new families joining us!

01.01.2022 Just thought that you would like to know that the club will be having a BACK TO THE BEACH themed social night on Saturday 1/8/2020. The club will supply a barbecue dinner and the bar will be open for refreshments at our usual fair prices, so come along and have a good time with your friends- get your favourite Hawaiian shirts, beach wear etc for a fun night. There will be music, possibly a real musician if we can arrange it( to be confirmed). It looks like the regulations on s...ocial distancing etc due to the coronavirus should be relaxed enough to have this function by August however should the situation change you will be notified. Doors open at 5 pm till late all members and guests are welcome so come and support your local surf club! Our annual AGM will follow the next day (2/8/20)and all committee positions will be vacant so if you dont like the way the club is run at the moment and would like to be involved in making these decisions in the future come to the AGM and give it a try! Thanks Jon,PRESIDENT NAROOMA SLSC

01.01.2022 We are all thinking of the family and friends affected by the tragedy at Narooma Bar yesterday morning. A big thanks to the Narooma surf lifesavers for their fantastic effort in assisting in the last 2 days for the search for the fisherman lost on the bar. They were a great help alongside Ben Bate yesterday and also with the branch today. Unfortunately they are yet to find him. Thank you Nigel and Jae Constable, Troy Beecham, Graeme Sawyer, Wayne Mullavey, Roger Adams, Glenn Bywater, Joe Bourke and Jon Carruthers.
