22.01.2022 Results, once the honey frame has been spun.

21.01.2022 Update on Swarm picked up 3 weeks back... despite best efforts could not find queen to get a happy snap. But otherwise, looking good.

18.01.2022 Here comes the honey.

16.01.2022 Long weekend coming up, but no show bag alley here .... time to check on the hives after the cooler townsville weather and those cheeky bee eaters. Hope the losses are low and the hives remain strong... Will post updates...

14.01.2022 Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work we go.... bee work that is! Checked 5 hives, took 10 ideal size frames with fully capped honey. Only challenge, those 10 frames came off the affectionately known "cranky bi*ch hive." Good breeder, but sure is cranky! Have now added the flow hive Honey super to this same hive, perhaps our cranky queen will adapt well with the flow hive. For fellow beeks, I swapped out 3 flow frames for 4 stickies, just to kick things off and waxed the flow frames.

14.01.2022 MaryAnne Sheens ... "MaryAnne Queen of Spin" has settled into her new home...

08.01.2022 We have been busy with hive inspections over the last month. Just monitoring things over the cooler period, dry conditions, bee eaters, and just the usual stuff. Took 7 frames of capped honey today from Ollera hives. Timely as stocks were running low! Expect more in next few weeks. Here are some of the pics from inspections.

08.01.2022 Today's efforts...7 hive inspections... phew! Outcomes: Transfer Nuc; checked progress on last Nuc transfer; took 8 full size frames of honey from newest location - beautiful golden colour on lighter side, beautiful taste from native flowering trees.
