18.01.2022 TIPS TO HELP BUDGET FOR YOUR MONTHLY MASSAGE: When you're on a tight budget, but you still need that monthly massage, and an hour just for yourself... #3. SMART GIFT GIVING... It feels great to watch people open the gifts you've picked especially for them, just as it feels nice to be on the receiving end. But my adult group has more and more trouble finding the perfect gifts for each other, because we can just go and buy what we want for ourselves! So we now try to focus on a shared experience rather than a physical gift; a day at the beach is inexpensive fun. If you have a huge family to buy for at Christmas time, try some Secret-Santa games; they are so much more fun (and less stress) than buying individual gifts. Hand made gifts can be very meaningful. Re-gifting is controversial, but an option. [OR, why not ask your friends to chip in for a massage voucher for your birthday...]

I strongly recommend that clients continue to self isolate as much as possible, and only book appointments that they really need.... Pre-existing bookings will have priority next week, with very limited spaces available for new bookings. Self imposed restrictions will remain in place for the time being. 05.01.2022 COVID-19 / Coronavirus - CLOSURE NOTICE: NCB Remedial Massage is CLOSED from 26 March 2020, until further notice, by order of the Australian Department of Health, in response to Coronavirus restrictions announced yesterday by the Prime Minister of Australia. I sincerely apologise to my loyal and supportive clients for this inconvenience, and wish to thank those of you who have contacted me today with your condolences and kind wishes. I hope to see you all again soon!... For clients who have pre-booked appointments over the next few weeks and months, I will contact each of you directly as your appointment draws near. For clients wishing to book new appointments, I will send updates as new information arises, and will begin taking bookings again as soon as I am able. In the meantime, feel free to contact me, and I will provide the most up-to-date information I have available, and any home care advice I can recommend. This is a difficult time for all of us, not just within the massage industry. And I am truly sorry to those of you who rely so much on massage. Some people have asked me today why massage is not considered an 'essential service', despite being an allied health industry, and being able to offer private health rebates. The answer I have received today is this: massage therapists are not registered members of AHPRA, with a Medicare provider number, and are therefore not able to provide services claimable through the Medical Benefits Scheme. At this point, being called an essential or non-essential service is not really very important. The risk of transmission would be the same, and I would have been forced to close my practise by moral choice if not political mandate. I am obviously disappointed by the news of our industry's closure, but I think it was ultimately unavoidable. What I do hope is that, in the aftermath of all this, our industry will survive, and hopefully will create a distinction within the massage industry, between allied health services and beauty therapies, a distinction that is not yet as well defined as I believe it should be. Please take care of yourselves, and I hope to see you all again as soon as possible.
