23.01.2022 We are very saddened at the sudden loss of passionate disability advocate, Sue Salthouse. Sue was a respected member of the NDIS Independent Advisory Council. Her contributions to NDIS were significant and she was highly respected within the disability sector. She was generous with her insights during the formative period of the NDIS Commissions establishment, for which we are very grateful. Sue will be deeply missed. We send our sincerest condolences to Sues family and friends.

21.01.2022 Registered NDIS providers have to identify which roles and jobs need to be filled by a worker with the right check, as well as making sure all NDIS workers in a risk-assessed role have that check. Risk assessed roles include: (a) Key personnel positions (eg Chief Executive Officers) (b) Those where normal duties include the direct delivery of specified supports or specified services to persons with disability (c) Those where normal duties are likely to require more than incid...ental contact with people with disability. Worker screening is a way to check that the people who are working or wish to provide NDIS supports and services do not present an unacceptable risk to people with disability.
