21.01.2022 Congratulations to Perth-based obstetrics specialist Professor John Newnham on his award as the 2020 Senior Australian of the Year in the Australia Day honours list. In Australia, 8% of babies are born pre-term and that rate doubles in the Indigenous population. Professor Newnham, is calling for more support for a new program called the Australian Pre-Term Birth Prevention Alliance that aims to reduce the rate of pre-term births across Australia. The alliance has already ...seen great success in WA and we look forward to seeing improvements right across the country. Thank you Professor Newnham AM!

18.01.2022 Today is World Prematurity Day. It is a day dedicated to raising awareness of the babies born too early and the health challenges they may face as they grow up.... Preterm birth is considerably more frequent in multiple births compared to singleton pregnancies, occurring in over 50% of all twin births and almost 100% of higher order multiple births. We invite you to share your story below, to raise awareness of how prematurity impacts the multiple birth community. See more

The 3 hour session will cover topics including (but not limited to): * ways of feeding more than one - Tandem positioning and pillows * latching * tips for building milk supply * nutrition for breastfeeding mums * pumping/expressing * logistics of getting out and about * value of breast feeding * logistics of prematurity- NICU/SCU admission and breastfeeding Refreshments provided.
