04.02.2022 Happy Australia Day to our friends and supporters. It was on this day (thanks to some friends) that i was awarded an OAM for my Charity work back in 2017. Right now a last minute opportunity has come up to send a set of clothing and toys for St Antony's Pre School on the island of Delft in Sri Lanka. So gathering up all thats needed as i plan to comlpete everything by sunday pm. Hopefully Terrey from the Northern Beaches Toy Recycler can get all the educational toys needed. So never a dull moment at Network Heaven.

25.01.2022 Met up with some of the volunteer ladies who make the girls dresses and skirts, library bags and hankies, baby bibs and aprons for the nuns at Long Reef Golf Club. Another glorious day so close to the water.

23.01.2022 A lot of fun was had by all who attended the Trivia Night in aid of the '2019 To Sri Lanka with Love' Christmas shipment.

22.01.2022 Having given considerable thought to the current situation with covid and the spread in NSW the shipment to Sri Lanka is being cancelled. I am currently looking for storage space in the area for 9 months. If you know anyone who may be able to assist. Please contact me directly. Thanks. Anne

22.01.2022 This year we are co-sponsoring two girls Jane and Tanya (not their real names) at 2 universities in Sri Lanka. I had the opportunity to send them two second ha...nd laptops - essential for their studies. This was a total surprise to them. Jane is studying for a Teaching degree and Tanya for a Business degree and both girls need to live away from home. A huge challenge in itself.Here are 2 hand made cards i recieved. 21.01.2022 Thank you to all who made the packing and sorting days. Its all finally left FFBC premises and the container is being prepared for shipment to Sri Lanka. We ship to multiple small groups ib distant rural areas. A total of 246 cartons is being shipped with at least 3,000 individual gift packs and then at least another 1,500 individual pieces of clothing saved from landfill. So it will make a difference to many children and individuals. Here are some photos of all who came and went and some who came back to give more time while tgey could. Thank you sooo many individuals mainly children will benefit.

17.01.2022 Travelling from Melbourne to Sydney in September? We have donation of rock candy that needs to come from a Donor in Tullamarine to Frenchs Forest in Sydney. The usual donation is around 10Kg. So, you need to put it in your luggage. The kids young and old will really appreciate it!

16.01.2022 Thank you to 5 friends who came along today and packed 6 boxes of obsolete clothing that will be shipped to Sri Lanka for a group of disadvantaged students. We also packed a donation of 300 pairs of reading glasses that will be given to seniors who can't afford a pair of reading glasses. We currently have 83 people who have been tested and they are looking forward to a pair of these glasses. Many are cleaners, street sweepers and older folk who attend a drop in centre in Colombo. Imagine not being able to read a newspaper? Imagine how happy they will be when they read a paper?

16.01.2022 Today we packed almost 1,000 hoodies that's been saved from landfill due to an incorrect print and have packed them for 4 groups that will distribute them to women 'tea pluckers' who earn around $3 per day plucking up to 18kgs of leaves. If you'd like to support this initiative and help with freight costs contact us at FFBC.

15.01.2022 At long last I am happy to advise a group of disadvantaged people who attend the 'soup bowl' in Sri Lanka have have been tested for reading glasses. I had sent the testers almost 12 months back. Next step is to source the glasses (I do have a contact). I can't imagine what its like to NOT be able to read a book or fill a form. So i am quietly excited about sourcing 83 pairs of reading glasses.

12.01.2022 Anyone travelling to Melbourne and returning to Sydney around the 26th Sept the latest?? 10.01.2022 This year due to covid 19 it has not been possible to collect gifts in the usual manner. So i have purchasd stationery needed for the 0 to 5 age group attending the Bethlehem Creche. Staff gifts and some of their siblings who are disadvantaged are included. So its all starting to take shape. My friend Jeannette and Avril a dear Senior Citizen put together 25 sewing kits for most of the workers so they can learn basic sewing. Here's a photo of the handover. The sewing kits have been thoughtfully put together. Thanks Averil and Jeannette. You really have gone the extra mile. This year we will be asking for donation $ due to covid. 09.01.2022 Today we packed 14 boxes including 300 individual Christmas gift packs for disadvantaged children in Sri Lanka. Due to covid i had not been able to collect gifts and with physical distancing it was not possible. We did however manage to provide for 300 children mainly girls as most of our volunteers got into sewing and put in a huge effort. Thanks to all who helped to make this happen.

08.01.2022 Merry Christmas to each and every one of our friends and supporters who helped with the 'To Sri Lanka with Love 2019'project. Our gifts are being distributed as I write and will continue into early January as students start the school year on the 2nd of January. This year we were so blessed to receive 'new but obsolete school clothing' thats been repurposed and saved from Land fill in Australia and shared with those who can put it to good use. There is plenty that goes into land fill each year and we look forward to sending more in 2020 but need to raise funds for the freight. Let us know if you can help.

08.01.2022 Photos of the distribution of reading glasses yesterday to the many urban poor in Sri Lanka. Most have never had their eyes tested! and they are just in survival mode. Thanks to my friends Visithra and Rajan they have finally been able to organise the distribution after many false starts. Unfortunately, projects can be like that. However, the most important thing is to get the goods to the right people who are most in need. Originally I had planned to be in Sri Lanka in Marc...h of this year so was looking forward to distributing them to another worthy group who had already been tested and were awaiting their glasses. With covid 19 sadly that group has now dispersed and I was able to direct the reading glasses elsewhere. Its great to know that people who once could not read a document or a newspaper will now be able to read! Click on the photo to see all the photos.

07.01.2022 We are gearing up to send Christmas gift packs for disadvantaged children in Sri Lanka in September 2021. So we need helpers to make library bags and pencil cases for all the younger children. Fabric is provided and we use recycled cord from 'Stuart Blinds' in Manly. They collect a huge bag every few weeks and we use it to make library bags, pencil cases and marble bags. A sample can be provided. Contact Anne if you can help. Alan from the Blind Company is holding a bag of the cord donated.

05.01.2022 And here are some of the dresses that volunteers from the northern beaches have been busy putting together. Sooo much has gone in to these garments. Every scrap of fabric beautifully put to good use.

05.01.2022 Some photos of children in the hill country the coolest area in Sri Lanka. These children are residents of tea plantations where poverty is a daily struggle. So our gifts are appreciated. This was a first for Network Heaven. With the help of a few friends who knitted beanies they were most welcome and a huge blessing to all who were so surprised to get one. with their name tag on it!

03.01.2022 The shipment and packing planned for January 17 to 21st is cancelled due to the current spread of covid and the implications. I am looking for some storage space - a small garage for nominal rent until Sept which is whenbthe next shipment would be planned. Let Anne know if you can help or know someone who cab help.Thx.

02.01.2022 This little mite is so happy to get a new pair of school shoes! So thankful for the Donor who made this possible. A big thank you. Schooling a child if you are a widow with limited resources is pretty tough. Education really does open up lifetime opportunities. If you can help with purchasing some exercise books from Aldi or Office Works (on-line) it would be a great help.
