24.01.2022 Education is key when it comes to making way for neurodivergent leadership. Educational programs for employees e.g. courses or personal development programs, should be open for atypically developing persons, so they can take steps toward growth at their own pace. What are some other educational programs that can assist with neurodivergent leadership? #Neurodiversity #Neurodivergent #ADHD #Autism #Dyslexia #Dyspraxia #Dyscalculia #Tourettes

23.01.2022 The physical structure of a room or environment can have impact on the day-to-day working lives of people who are neurodivergent. If the office is open plan, having a 'quiet space' is one accommodation that can be made to better support neurodivergent employees. What are accommodations relating to the physical environment of a workplace have helped you?

23.01.2022 This is how we add strength to both our passwords and workplaces! What are some of the positives of neurodiverse leadership?

23.01.2022 Im Carolyn and Im the Digital Content Producer at Neurodiversity Media. My role includes a variety of elements, but mainly creating content for social media, our Resource Library, infographics and memes (my favourite!). I come from a diverse journalism/media/research background - and am a bit of a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to communications. Ive been published by SBS, The Age and Sydney Morning Herald, and have worked in the academic, private and public sectors. I ...also run an ethical streetwear label as a side hustle. Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with #ADHD, which didnt come as a surprise, but a relief as its something I have struggled with - throughout my schooling, relationships and professional life - for as long as I can remember. I still have a way to go, but for the first time in my life I finally feel like I'm on track. The reason why I wanted to combine my professional skills with my lived experience and move into this space, was because I found there to be enormous gaps in information and resources around ADHD and neurodiversity in general, and a great deal of misinformation and stigma - which led to my late diagnosis, and many of my internal/external struggles. Working for Neurodiversity Media gives me an opportunity to address some of those shortcomings, raise much-needed awareness around neurodiversity, and provide #neurodivergent folk, like myself, with valuable information such as our social media campaigns, evidence-based research reporting, and our Resource Library (coming soon!).

22.01.2022 They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but rarely on sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn and even Instagram have I seen an image unaccompanied by text. 22.01.2022 When hiring neurodivergent talent, make clear the supports available at the workplace. Provide regular, one-on-one feedback once a week, reducing over time. Provide connection with personal support as needed (e.g psychologist). What supports have you received in the workplace that has helped with your day-to-day working life? #neurodiversity #neurodivergent #ADHD #autism #dyslexia #dyspraxia #dyscalculia #tourettes

22.01.2022 My name is Buddy and Im the official mascot for Neurodiversity Media! My role is to represent the company and help tell better stories about neurodiversity. I am 22cms in height and although that may seem small, I have a big imagination and am full of creative ideas. I enjoy thinking outside of the box, making information about neurodiversity accessible in all formats and engaging with people. At the same time I enjoy quiet spaces, working from home, clear communication and... of course, the use of visuals. Having these accommodations in the workplace keeps me from going around in circles! I love sharing information and resources about neurodiversity, especially in the workplace, and I am ambitious about creating some great conversations around those topics and raise some much-needed awareness!

21.01.2022 For many people who are neurodivergent, sensory stimulation in the workplace such as movement, sound, light and touch, can contribute to an inability to focus. Managing office noise with headphones is one of the accommodations that can be made, what are some others?

18.01.2022 Im Carly Godden and Im a journalist with Neurodiversity Media. A lot of my job involves writing for the NeuroWork e-newsletter and our upcoming NeuroWork podcast. I actually didnt start off my working life in media, but began a career in social justice law. I contributed to projects that tried to give rights and opportunities to Aboriginal Australians and Pacific Islanders in connection with their lands. A big part of this was making sure that they could make informed choi...ces by breaking down the legal and government jargon into more digestible information. I then moved to working in records and archives with the State government, including on digital communications projects like redesigning our website, blogs and online exhibitions. Inspired by the hidden stories I found in old files and research papers, in 2016 I kicked off my very first podcast called Dead and Buried. My aim was to unlock the diversity of voices that dont get told in a lot of popular accounts of Australian history. It was here my love of podcasting and telling meaningful stories came into full force. Since then Ive moved onto making audio documentaries for ABC Radio National. Working for Neurodiversity Media has allowed me to continue to make research more accessible. I am passionate about our brand of journalism that helps equip neurodivergent individuals with the knowledge they need to really shine in their careers. Besides journalism, my other great love is my fox terrier Scully. She constantly competes with the screen for my attentionand so often occupies my lap during many of my writing sessions!

12.01.2022 I'm Rachel Worsley, Founder and CEO of Neurodiversity Media. I was diagnosed with #ADHD and #Autism in 2018 after a lifetime of being written off as simply struggling with chronic mental illness. I had a successful career in medical journalism. My reporting on doctors mental health earned me a nomination for a journalism award. But then I walked away. It became too much. I explored marketing in law firms and found a passion for translating dense information, like legal jar...gon, into everyday language for ordinary people. I scratched my entrepreneurial itch and started my first business in typewriter poetry. But I was haunted by the untold stories and need for resources in neurodiversity in the workplace. I started Neurodiversity Media in June 2019 to help organisations tell better stories about neurodiversity. We still do so today. Through Neurodiversity Media, I feel like Ive finally reached my potential to create accessible resources for people like myself and the employers who want to support them.

11.01.2022 How we feel when workplaces promote visibility Let us know what you think comes next!

11.01.2022 My name is Isabelle Quigley, Issy for short. Im the Co-Founder and Chief Design Officer of Neurodiversity Media. Even though I was surrounded by neurodivergent people growing up, I didnt get diagnosed until September 2019, at age 23. It turns out that the mental health issuesI had been struggling with all my life was almost entirely the result of untreated #ADHD. I met Rachel back in 2018, working at the same law firm doing digital marketing. Although I enjoyed studying law..., I constantly struggled with legal administration and basic office tasks whilst excelling in the visual work I did with Rachel. Although the work environment was positive, I knew it wasnt right for me. I desperately wanted to fit into a neurotypical mould, and it was making me miserable. When Rachel asked me to work with her in December 2019, it was perfect timing. Now I get to use my drawing skills to make information more accessible, work at building a business, and learn new things every day. Im proof that understanding your #neurodivergent employees and utilising their strengths leads to success in your business, and I cant wait for everyone to see what we have to offer!
