23.01.2022 Our recent newsletter mentioned Mel and her new puppy. Well here it is.

18.01.2022 The Govt has now made way for older people to downsize their residential property and contribute through a superannuation fund to a retirement income stream. Current legislation dictates that people over the age of 65, can only contribute to super if they meet a work test, and if your over 75.......well you are just unable to contribute to super. From 1st July 2018, the legislation will change (but there are conditions).

17.01.2022 How often I hear people say "if only I had started doing this 10-years ago". Don't wait until the last minute to start saving for your retirement. Spend 1-hour with a financial planner to learn more about what you can do now, to improve your financial position and prepare for retirement years.

14.01.2022 How much superannuation do I need to retire comfortably? To better understand how much you'll need, watch this video to start your retirement planning early. #financialplanning #money #yankalilla #superannuation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEvajZmyEfk

11.01.2022 Its probably the most common response from retiree's..... I wish I had started saving earlier. It doesn't hit home until you leave paid employment and start relying on income support & your own savings. Why not start thinking about retirement now. Not necessarily a "budget", but put a little away each fortnight and build your retirement savings now, to support your retirement years.

11.01.2022 Not so many changes this budget to consider.

10.01.2022 COVID-19 has created a significant impact on the stock market, which has a direct impact on your retirement savings. There are Govt initiatives such as the 50% pension payment discount (income streams) that were announced to help manage this difficult time. Have your investments been structured in a way that you have been able to manage the volatility risk with minimal impact on your retirement savings?... We are always happy to talk.

09.01.2022 Volatility is part of every day life when you have some exposure to the stock market. Given that most of us have superannuation savings, and part of that is invested in Australian & International shares, then most of us are impacted to differing levels each day the news presenter shows the red arrows (indicating downward movement). Is it.....OMG the share markets falling.... OR .....OH YEH, the stock markets gone down again today. History indicates that each time the market ...goes down, it eventually goes back up. Each new record high, is eventually passed by another record high. The greater the risk......the greater the reward. Those that accept the risk of volatility and ride through the downturns, are generally rewarded by the higher long-term returns that the share market has provided over the years.

07.01.2022 An official welcome to Mel Nicholson who has been appointed as an Authorised Credit Representative with Charter Financial Planning Ltd, and a Director and part owner of Next Chapter Financial Planning Pty Ltd. I'm really pleased to have Mel on board and looking forward to the "Next Chapter" of Next Chapter Financial Planning Pty Ltd. If you, family or friends are looking for a homeloan, or want to know if you have the best homeloan product, Mel is now accredited as a mortgage broker under the Next Chapter Financial Planning umbrella and can compare between many homeloan providers.

07.01.2022 I am sure the day you retire will be both special and frightening at the same time. You don't need to go to work, and you have more time to do the things you have planned to do. BUT.....your income has stopped. Where does my income come from now? What do I do with my super? Can I get income support from Centrelink? This is where a financial planner can help you understand your options and ability to fund your retirement income needs.

06.01.2022 Merry Christmas
