25.01.2022 Just finished upgrading an old (2008) 20" iMac with an SSD. With three times the previous storage capacity & ten times the speed this is almost like getting a brand new computer.

21.01.2022 With millions of us confined to our homes because of the coronavirus, there has never been a greater need for remote computer support. But how do you find someone trustworthy to help when your computer plays up?

20.01.2022 My latest blog post describes computer startup problems I've looked at with clients in Kedron, Springwood & Sunnybank Hills recently

18.01.2022 You may recall me posting the first of these photos before. The second was taken today following my tidy-up of the network at this business premises in Beenleigh.

18.01.2022 Waiting for a hard drive to SSD clone to finish. Sometimes this job requires a lot of patience

17.01.2022 My second time this week looking at a Windows PC stuck in an automatic repair loop. Unfortunately the first one had a hard drive which had completely failed resulting in loss of its data. This one just required a reinstall of Windows to get it up and running again.

17.01.2022 My latest blog post is a repost of an article I recently had published at SiteProNews #digitalmarketing

13.01.2022 #WindowsXP is still widely used in manufacturing industry. I had to temporarily disengage my brain from Windows 10 for this job.

13.01.2022 On more than one occasion, I've been contacted by clients who were concerned because everything had disappeared from their desktops

12.01.2022 I had a client yesterday who somehow ended up on a rogue website while trying to register for a postal vote in the Queensland state election. Always make sure you type a URL into the address bar at the top of your browser and not into the search box. The latter can result in you clicking through to somewhere you don't want to be, especially if you're using an out-of-date browser.

12.01.2022 Ive seen the insides of quite a few of these recently. Its a 27" iMac and that hard drive can easily be replaced by an SSD to make it heaps faster.

12.01.2022 Sometimes computers begin to overheat as they get older, and they may even shut down spontaneously as a result. Its good to service the CPU cooling system to prevent this from happening.

12.01.2022 Thanks heaps for your kind comment Don. It was great to meet you and a pleasure to be of assistance

11.01.2022 Ive written previously about slow computers and about the benefit of upgrading your old hard drive to a Solid State Drive (SSD). Now Id like to look at how you actually go about doing this.

10.01.2022 Thanks Norm for fixing my daughters laptop. Your professionalism and pricing was so much better than all the other "geeks" out there and I will not only use you again if I have any more computer problems, but will also recommend your services to any of my friends.....

09.01.2022 Until today, this business client in Underwood was still running Windows 7 on their computer. In the space of 45 minutes I upgraded the computer to the very latest version of Windows 10.

05.01.2022 Replacing a broken touchscreen on a Lenovo Yoga 530 14" laptop

05.01.2022 The owner of this laptop thought it was dead as it wouldn't start up and there was nothing on the screen. I quickly noticed that one of the LEDs was lit, which showed that it was actually powered on. I forced it to shut down by holding the power button down for a few seconds until the LED was extinguished. Then I pressed the power button and it booted up successfully. Sometimes you may think you have a terminal problem but there's actually a simple fix

04.01.2022 I've had a couple of occasions recently when I was upgrading clients' computers from older versions of Windows. Importing old emails into Windows 10 isn't always straightforward but for most people it's very important to have all their emails.
