23.01.2022 Welcome to the pantry!! This is a space that will be used to help feed our neighbours, reduce food waste, crop swap, and help support our area in this uncertain time. Take what you need, give what you can. Rules for the pantry... 1.Wash your hands thoroughly before opening the fridge (hand washing station will be available) 2. Eat at your own risk. Donations are anonymous. Look for best buy date. Look at ingredients. Use wisdom. 3. Please don't donate items that require refrigeration or alcohol beverages. (The fridge is not powered) 4. Be discrete and respectful of residents. 5. Please lable all food not in original packaging. See more

23.01.2022 Mug of soup to thaw you as we go into winter?? We have a surplus of these little soups and we're hoping they won't go to waste. Feel free to come collect a little warming soup from us. Message me for more info on location of pantry.

21.01.2022 We are officially open!!!! The first donations have been popped into the pantry and the hand washing station is out and ready. Feel free to come on by to collect food, make a donation, or just have a lookie loo. Message me for more specific info on location . The temporary cardboard shelving I crafted together are delicate so please take care when placing times. ... Please limit the items you touch and it's likely a great idea to wipe down any items to take before you put them in your own kitchen, as donations are anonymous and we won't know the hands the items have come into contact with. Let's spread the love not the virus

16.01.2022 Feel like trying something new? I love a community pantry because you never know what you're going to get!! A perfect chance to try something new. Please come and grab a few. We have a surplus of these scallops.

15.01.2022 Have you stopped by our little ol' pantry in the 9 days we've been open??? If so, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. We've had many neighbours come through. We're having visits to collect food about every 1 to 2 days and donation visits every 2 to 3 days. If you'd like to come by but don't know where the pantry is, just send me a message here and I'll let you know. There's no checking in with me once you are here, the pantry is self serve for picking up items and small donations. You don't need to be starving or have $5 or less in your bank account to use our pantry. Just come check it out if you have been impacted by covid, are a low income neighbour, or are just curious. We want to help support you!! Love ya!

10.01.2022 These rice crackers are delicious! I tried them myself. A little sweet, little salty and a whole lot of yummy! We have a surplus of these rice crackers at the pantry. Please come try this little snack, little ones will like them.

08.01.2022 We've had our first few guests to the pantry and it's been so wonderful to have many messages from loving neighbors wanting to share love and resources. For those who haven't used or donated to a community pantry before, here's a little rundown. This community pantry will be a place where neighbours from all over canberra's inner north are welcome to come to collect food, health products, local crops, and other goodies as available. If you are experiencing food insecurity fo...r whatever reasons (covid, or otherwise), I'd encourage you to come have a look and take what you need from the fridge, free of charge and the only obligations are the rules listed on the fridge for everyone's health and safety. If you are doing a pantry clean out and have excess food, bring it to the pantry! If you had an over abundance in your crops and don't want them to go to waste, bring it to the pantry! Cleaning out your bathroom and found some unopened items, bring it to the pantry! If you were given a hamper and didn't like some of the items, bring them to the pantry! Feel like baking but don't know who to bake for, bring it to the pantry! (Also use hygiene while cooking to reduce virus spread) This project combines two major theories. Feed our neighbors AND reduce food waste. Love ya!
